It's too expensive to justify buying for me, but I borrowed a friends for a while and goddamn they're nice.
DS2 was the peak. DS3 felt like cheap garbage. DS4 is an abomination made by Dr.Frankenstein of too many different materials and it looks like they mashed together the blueprints of two different controllers into a half-assed compromise at the last minute.

Hands down the ps1 controller with the analog sticks, later playstation controller seem way cheap.
Xbone controllers always seemed really good to me but i never tried them.

That cheep plastic that creeks as you play.
Those awful triggers that you fingers slip off of and are so squishy and mushy, not to mention putting the controller on a surface will triggers inputs.
Convex sticks and inferior stick placement.
Handles that are too short they barely rest in you palm.

My cheap ass Logitech Rumblepad with the DS3 close second(if only it didn't have those shitty triggers and uncomfortable d-pad).
Never much cared for the 360 controller. Feels so cheap and..meh.

My overall favorite is probably the DS4, the Xbox One controller comes close.
AS far as ones that are just unique I still really like the GameCube controller.
gamecube when I was a kid because tinier hands.
Now it's probably a type of new type xbox controller. puts the right emphasis on movement in left hand and buttons in right. if it had a better dpad It'd be best no doubt.

There's a few major ones I haven't used, and I don't honestly remember how good NES, SNES and Mega Drive/Genesis controllers were to use, since I emulate those games with modern controllers nowadays
I haven't used it much, but the steam controller is the most comfortable one I've ever used. I haven't used console controllers much, since I never bought one.

Just so much customization. Although it took a while to get used to the right track pad it just feels natural now and can do so much more than a regular controller.
