Not false flagging but there is little to no point if you already own a 970/980 or ati equivalent. I upgraded to a 970 for MGSV but there isn't much on the horizon to upgrade for.

Got an itx build so I'm waiting for a small firm factor release. I know this can take a long time, but I love my itx build so much that it's worth the wait. Until then I'll be using my 960.

Its a die shrink Maxwell with a couple of tweak for vr and a cool aid for async.
Third party is struggling to meet the $599 msrp announced by Nvidia with most of the oc or advanced custom cooler will reach the $699 mark.

On paper GTX 1080 is expected to perform around 1%5 more than 980ti.
That image is pretty much close to what some analysis expect it to be.
There's a reason why Nvidia conveniently forgot that 980ti exist in all of their graph.

That's the point of GPU Boost or whatever they call it. The GPU clock is increased until the card reaches its temperature target.

Well, this is nice and all, but I'm not spending $600 on a GPU.
Show the 1070 stress tests. I'm betting on it roughly equaling or slightly beating out the 980ti, so I can finally get out and replace my 970. I don't do 4k gaming (yet, anyway) so price to performance is something of a deal breaker.

Because the MSRP is $100 lower, and graphics cards have rarely gone much above their MSRP. The one exception to this that I remember is 5850/5870 which were plagued by bad availability and went for $50 above their MSRP at launch and for the following few months.

AIB makers will want to sell the chips for a highes price as possible, so they will put them in the most expensive custom models first and then supply and demand dictates prices.
