I'm probably overestimating their popularity, but Jerma and Ster both jumping onto the OW train probably did quite a bit.

I'm still convinced that OW is only a very small factor in hindering BB sales.
Games aren't remotely similar other than both having a cartoony artstyle.
They play and feel very different.
Also player numbers are dropping from day to day even when OW isn't currently available.
So while it sold like 100k copies on steam that means that over half of the people who bought it alrdy abandoned it.
Saying that is another games fault is just laughable.

When you boil the games down to brass tacks (or first line marketing I would say), they're effectively the same in people's eyes. Both are cartoony, they both have characters in a team based shooter setting, and both have skills like they played in their MOBA games.
They might be different but from the marketing I've seen for both it's fairly obvious who did the better job and who did fuck all to actually try and SEPARATE themselves from something they should have known would completely roll them.
