I'm pretty sure anon meant gameplay, both on a fundamental level and on the fact that it drops frames in the simplest encounters. The graphics also leave a lot to be desired, but I personally like the designs beneath them (not including the generic enemies you encounter)

Say what you want about Sony and the cinematic experience, but 30FPS in games didn't become the norm until the Genesis.
No More Heroes 2
Can't argue its good, but I fucking love it.
Perfect Weapon is a legitimately horrible game and I'll still go back and play it regularly. It was a very early release on the Playstation, and one of two games my parents bought for me when I first got the system.
>>337891140
Not to mention it balanced the game by making the weaker weapons more reliable. The FAL is stronger than the AK, but the AK is still worth holding onto because the fucker never jams. In 3, there's literally no reason not to use the P416 or ACE over the AK.

Performance wise, yeah. But it has the best gameplay of the entire series. I want to try 3 on the Vita to see if it finally makes it playable.
Eternal Sonata is possibly the worst JRPG I've ever played. Which is a rather shaky genre to begin with.
In spite of this it is also one of my favorite vidya experiences for reasons I have spent years trying to figure out.

I've played 3 on the Vita and it has much improved performance. Lots more peons on the map with almost no awkward pop-in, only minor framerate hiccups during the most chaotic of battles. It also has little quality of life improvements, like the three characters you're not currently controlling making an enemy officer stop and fight them even when they're trying to flee half the map away.
But it cut out a huge chunk of the earlier history. The story in general felt oddly rushed. There's a whole lot of what-if scenarios which were definitely cool, but I hate that some of the real story was sacrificed in return. They also removed the post-battle officer conversations from SWC1, which I adored. I replayed maps over and over just to talk to everyone. Teahouse events are there but they're few in number, typically comedy, and not tied to battles so they rarely have any sort of significance.
Kingdom Hearts 2.
The story is a trainwreck from start to finish, and it takes up so much time in the game, too. This is on top of the boring, linear level design, and bizarre-ass adherence to gimmicks and minigames in major, unskippable levels. On top of having to finish Atlantica to get the best weapon, AND having to finish every song again to fill the journal.
Also fuck yeah, Moomins thread.
Some might argue that it's not a bad game, but it kind of is. A bunch of semi-amusing minigames slapped together.BUT I LOVE IT
Still play this game to this day. It's just one of those games that can always manage to make me feel happy when I play. Any of ya'll have games like that where you just come back to it after so long but you can jump right back into it as if you hadn't stopped playing and the controls just feel natural and everything just feels better the second you go back to the game?
>>337900579
I played the fuck out of that game as a kid. The voice acting is still constantly popping up in my head.
However, pic related was goat
I think there's few games that are genuinely bad, like badness permeates from every core facet of the entire game. At least in the commercial, published arena. There's like the famously bad titles that are real head scratchers, but most everything else has some redeeming features. Omikron is a favourite game, its deeply flawed yes, but not genuinely honest to god how the fuck did this get published bad (well, some of those critical bugs in the retail build didn't do it any favors...)
>>337898947

It's great. If watched these days, TV show still holds up, and is great mix of the comics and books.
Books are pretty standard children's books, though they have some darker bits and some weird stuff that series is known for.
The comics are pretty surreal. True, the series as whole is, but the strip is something that came from backwater country that had just experienced a big war. That doesn't really come up in them, but they are weird.
