It's the same reason why people don't mention Suikoden Tactics. Except Suikoden Tactics is at least better than WAXF.
I'd be more hype if they did a direct sequel game to WA1. I was always sad that they decided to pull a Final Fantasy on the series with the series not being connected really outside of themes.
Last time that was done well was Star Ocean 1 and 2.

It's an above average srpg. Story was shit but the balance and level design was excellent for at least half the game (and it was a long game).
What srpgs would you say are better? I'd agree with Tactics Ogre LUCT, Gungnir, and Growlanser IV, but WAXF is definitely better than FFT, Yggdra Union, Disgaea, Jeanna D'Arc, Summon Night 5, and Ragnarok Tactics.

You attach passive ability items to your elemental magic sets, which already have some passive abilities on top of stats for equipping it.
You have to have level points to actually activate passive abilities though.

the characters felt too generic since they only had one unique force ability and the only other differences were basic stats. you really had to try to make everyone play differently, and even then the best strategy for everyone was using gatling.
