loved this series
I remember being so pissed off playing the first one because they had a weird system of establishing reinforcement counts. I was on the sand planet with the insect aliens and playing as the Republic, and there were about 30 droids vs 1 republic count. The problem was that there were technically two clones left on the field, so if either of us died then it's game over. Thank fuck for the ability to order troops because I sent him and I to the main spire in the far side of the map with the red map and we held out there. I was just playing as a regular clone, but the AI clone was one of the green guys with jetpacks.
I was doing pretty well and felt like a badass by watching the red dots on the map slowly make their way over to my location and held off as many as I could, but the green guy got killed and I still lost.
I think the second game fixed that troop count issue but it also took away that map.

That sucks. I did something like that on the Kamino map, but there wasn't an issue with the reinforcement count. I was playing as one of the sniper clones and was holed up on the farthest platform as like 50 droids just mauled their way through my last ten clones. I don't think I ever figured out how those troop scores dropped so fast.

Okay, there is an actual explanation believe it or not.
The Darktroopers you see in Battlefront aren't the same Darktroopers in Dark Forces 1, but a related predecessor to it, Dark Forces were robotic soldier deathmachines, Battlefront darktroopers were 'merely' Clone Wars vets that had underwent extensive cybernetic augmentation.

Killing so many clones that your AI would capture the entire map and forcing them to spawn at the same time at once command post letting you get multi-kills of up to twenty of them in one pass...those were the days...watching the clones rolling off and out of the map at hyperspeed

I used to be a total star wars shill, spent tons on the legos, loved all the movies, religiously watched the clone wars, played Battlefront 2 all the time.
Everytime I think about, or re-watch the Force Awakens, I hate it even more. It's complete trash. I'll go and watch the other movies, but Rogue One doesn't look good at all. EP8 might be good, but I seriously doubt it.
Battlefront 2 was awful compared to the original. Didn't include most of the original maps and added a bunch of maps based on 10 second scenes in the third movie. Also no flying vehicles except in the shitty space maps.

Prior to TFA I was a really big fan of the series. Afterwards my opinion of the series dropped hard.
They had an entire universe with hundreds of potential story routes they could have taken for the movie, but instead they just rehashed A New Hope?
That's where my biggest disappointment lay. I didn't want to watch a movie I had seen multiple times before, I wanted to be taken on a new journey across the galaxy I had loved all my life.
The only hope I have for Rogue One is the fact that Vader is going to kill some bitches and that the Godzilla 2014 director is running the movie.
I hope it's good, but I'm going in with low expectations.
After the disappoint that was TFA I'm just hoping for something fun and not filled with "Muh strong female lead who don't need no man". That and I want Vader to be OP as fuck.

Now that you mention it I had a look, there are indeed subtle differences.
The bracers and jetpack are similar in functional layout but the forms are very different.
Boba wears a lot less limb armor and his cuirass is more of a solid plate over a tunic rather than Jango's disconnected pieces on an underlay.

Damn, I did a galactic conquest with each faction a couple months ago, and CIS was BY FAR the hardest, it's like my team was trying to make me lose no matter how well I played, and I think I actually did lose a battle. But I guess it's probably because I bought all the classes. But also the SBD wrist blaster is like complete shit compared to any of the other factions' basic infantry units' rifles, and the SBD's head is like right in the top of its chest, so I think that the team is literally just built to get killed.

The TIE thing was so shit. For what reason would the first order redesign the established TIE fighter to fit a rear facing gunner? It's a dogfighter right, it's not as fast as an Awing or TIE interceptor, they're going to suffer heavy losses and now in addition to having to manufacture brand new fighters with twin seats instead of using the old empire's stock of singles you're losing two soldiers every time one gets shot down.
So transparent, clearly done for plot purposes. Should have been a TIE bomber. Pulled me right out of the movie, I thought they were going to steal two ships at first.
