I don't understand. How is someone asking if someone should get a game on PS4 and being responded to with "get it on [insert platform here]" improper as a response? The person specifically asked about the PS4, so that must mean they are curious about its system qualities rather than just it as a game, otherwise such a person would've asked "Should I get Valkyria Chronicles" rather than "Should I get Valkyria Chronicles on PS4". As you can see, the latter implies there is some question about what system it should be bought on.
Also the thread you linked were things that happend with FFX/X-2 HD Remaster was first released and then re-released on PS4 and is now happening again with its next re-release on PC. Arguing about the qualities of the Remaster as to whether or not its happening has been happening since the PS3 release. The PC release is not ruining these threads, as it was already like that beforehand. This is just a chance to bring back that old argument over whether or not playing the original version or the Remaster is better.

And its getting the same sort of reactions games tend to get when they first come out. Its not newfaggotry, just refreshed discussion on older topics.
For example, Final Fantasy X has respawned discussion as to whether or not its linearity and cutscene quantity harms it as a game and has gotten some discussion with regards to how the sphere grid is treated, the usefulness of Kihmahri, and so on. This is not a bad thing, as it means more people are getting to enjoy a quality video game and it brings in a resurgence of discussion long lost. I think its inevitable that if a game isn't on one's preferred platform they are less likely to play it, but that doesn't necessarily mean a lack of interest from the start. There are all sorts of reasons someone might neglect to play a game, and I think that's partially one of the cool things about ports is that such people would finally sit down and actually play the game.
However, I do feel you on the latter portion of what you said. People are often quick to talk shit about a game if it isn't on their platform of choice and then later if a game does get ported people suddenly act excited, and that can be very frustrating as its hypocritical and completely wrong, as there are a lot of fantastic games that are console exclusive and they shouldn't be looked down upon as games simply for their exclusivity. If someone wants to play a game on PS4, Vita, etc. that should be seen as perfectly fine and the games that are exclusive to such systems are not bad for their exclusivitiy, and in many cases are actually great games. In that sense I would suggest just reporting these people as shitposters. Games aren't bad or good just because of what system they are on. In that sense I suppose that's spawned somewhat from people spouting master race crap, pushing elitism and talking as if games don't matter unless its on their platform of choice which is stupid and shitpost-y. So I feel you, but I'd suggest it be best for you to just report anyone like that. I don't think that means anything about ports being a bad thing though. Just that people should learn to appreciate games more.
