The problem is that he made it too low and too slow. Sure, he's got the notes, but it doesn't sound as recognizable because it's slower than the original and because it's a much lower pitch. The techno shit might have worked well, but that's a big if.

I'm very very chill on how this OST is, Mick Gordon is great and did a superb job with Wolfenstein TNO and I like how brutal some of the new tracks sound, they fit perfectly. Rip & tear would pump the fuck out of me.
But I feel he kinda failed with the E1M1. He should have kept it on a 7-string for that song.

The first time I really felt a kick between the soundtrack and the gameplay was during that track near the end called 'BFG Division' I think in the section just after the tower ascension.
I found myself nodding along to it without even realizing.
I've seen bands like Heart of a Coward, Periphery and Acacia Strain live so I'm no stranger to this stuff, but some parts of DooM 4's soundtrack just feel *good* in a way other bands sometimes don't.
