I had a great solo commando run going on literally my second run ever. By the time HAHAHAHAHA difficulty rolled around, I had enough damage, armor, and regen to be practically invincible. I kept teleporting to old levels and exploring with my seven hopoo feathers and four rusty jetpacks. Then, around the 280 minute mark, I was dropped to about 10% health by something and I was simply declared dead even though I had health left and the timekeeper's hourglass was active. I could even make my corpse jump and repair my drones in the game over screen.
Anything similar happen to anyone? Did God kill me because he feared a challenger?
Blighted (invisible) enemies tend to do that.

Base game is shit, but it's fun with /v/ and artifacts.
Always remember the following things
Do whatever the fuck you want in Singleplayer. You're one guy against an infinite amount of creatures. Get infusion if you want, for example. If you die, you die for good and you lose all of your progress and current items
If you die too many times and stumble across a green chest, do not be afraid to pick Guardian's Heart. Sure, you might probably get hate from several other players for not picking clover, but at least you can live longer, pick more items and eventually be able to carry the team if the conditions are right
You see a red elite, you keep running. No exceptions. When a rocket is in the air, never backtrack. Just keep moving to avoid getting fucked up.
Unless the character has plenty of i frames, NEVER PICK MELEE CHARACTERS. They're shit, they deal mostly the same damage as ranged characters, and you gotta stand in harm's way to actually be able to fight. Melee characters that are ok are Loader and possibly Mercenary. Miner works too if you know what you are doing.
When a wurm is about to rise, never descend from a platform unless absolutely necessary. Descending will give the wurm more time to go straight into you and often deal killing blows. If you can, try to ascend instead.
You might have heard of the rope trick where you can avoid a wurm by staying on it. It doesn't work on Overcharged Worms, however, as the electricity still hits you for immense amounts of damage, per segment.
Get on the fucking ropes when you're about to get swarmed by funballs (spite bombs). Funballs have a very limited vertical range of explosion but plenty of horizontal range of explosion. If no ropes are available, time your jumps correctly to avoid getting hit by the explosions.
Always share items, no one likes a guy who picks every single item while the rest of the team is dead for most of the game. This often leads to a "restart" from the host's part (AKA disconnecting from the game and in result disconnecting everyone else).

Alien Heads reduce all cooldowns by ...30%, capping thrice. Sceptres could act as a focussed reducer in case it's only the fourth ability you want to spam. Or maybe extra Sceptres double the damage/distance/duration of any effects. But I see the point about the Merc; other classes can already break the game but it's still not good to add more.
