You absolutely shouldn't count on one game "saving" your company.
Very few games (like Halo, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Minecraft) have caused such a big impact, to make millions interested. You could argue that the Wii did that and was an overwhelming success, but that isn't a game.
Nintendo needs a flawless system if they want to save themselves. Remember, it's competing against PS4 and XB1, which already have a big userbase and have been on the market for 3 years (still quite young, but old enough for everyone to know about).

Dude I loved the last year of GC and I was really mad when they released the Wii because I wanted the GC to last longer and when I picked up the Wii it was soooooo boring I remember sitting in the menu for hours wondering what to do because of how every game I played kinda sucked. Literally the only games I liked were nights, sin and punishment 2,Metroid other m, and smash bros brawl but they were all okay at best and never lived up to their pervious games. After 2 years of having the Wii my brother got a 360 and I got a 360 because of how there were no 10/10 amazing games on the wii
