The thing about MMOs is that a lot of their appeal is in character creation. But VR is all about that first person perspective, which means you can't see your character that you created.
Personally I think a VR mecha MMO would be cool. You make a mech and then the VR headset is like the cockpit display or something, so it looks like you're inside the mech itself.
