I play through Terraria once a year or so. Every single time I get sucked in looking for alternative weapons/builds I haven't tried yet.
I love pretty much everything about it except the end-end-game. Post Moon Lord you get a few more weapons but it's not like they're super useful since you've beaten the game.
Are there mods that fix that? I've never tried any mods.

Terraria is finished. 1.3.1 has been delayed endlessly because the developers have been focusing on controller support instead of the features people actually were interested in. Otherworld was supposed to be released already, and in all likelihood is abandonware at this point. Even if it isn't, there's a pretty good chance Re-Logic is going to aim both Otherworld and Terraria 2 (the existence of which will depend entirely on Otherworld's succcess) at the console market rather than the PC one that their success was built on.
Meanwhile, Starbound is finally coming out of early access with 1.0, thoroughly obliterating Terraria anyway. There's no point in playing a dead game when Starbound does everything Terraria does and more, and better at that.

It seems like anytime I end up using Thorium + Ersion it tends to crash quickly. But I've got like 20 mods I think from that browser thing. Ersion seems to make it a lot more likely though as without it I can normally play a lot longer.but it's more the size of the mod I think since again it's always an out of memory shit.

If you are having Out of Memory errors when playing with mods, google for "4GB Patcher" and then patch Terraria.exe with it.
It increases the allotted memory an executable can use. Literally no crashes since and I'm running like 10+ mods.
I have 400 autistic hours in it, waiting on the next patch to spend 400 more.
