How developed is the story? I actually have the game already installed since aeon but never started it, I'm afraid that my level in Japanese in not enough to follow and savor it.

I loved Evenicle and I didn't mind Aster (liked him more than Rouga).
He's much the same as Est who is the MC of Drapeko.
Nothing compared to Rance even then sure he's a nicer person.
I'd also say that Patton* is a better protagonist than Aster.
*He sort of counts as an Alicesoft protagonist

Aster is and it's actually plot relevant a pretty limited person in terms of personality.
He's slavish in regards to the following the rules without even really considering why things are the way they are.
It's not a sign of bad writing because it's a deliberate plot point and one of things that sets up well for a sequel.
