I'm an Alphafag myself, but I really appreciate many of the things Third Strike did.
If it weren't for the parries, it would have been hands down the best fighter. It's not like I hate them, but they aren't for everyone and they really change the meta, so 3S gets more hate than it deserves because of this.

It's funny for you to say that because it's actually the other way around.
Street Fighter is too primitive and stale on it's core and KOF is complex but fast and with focus in fundamentals (except XIII). And MVC is so utter shit that's not even worth discussing.
The reason why the Capcom games are more successful is because muh SFII, good marketing and the fact that it's liked by Americans and Europeans who have enough money to buy any shit that's thrown at them as long as it has their Ken, Guile or their waifu.
I'm not saying SF is shit but it is not better than KOF or any other SNK game (SamSho, Last Blade, Fatal Fury). Garou/KOF 99 were better than SFIII but they couldn't reach the same sales for the reasons posted above.

Blowbacks, rolls, their guard cancel variants and some kind of MAX/HD mechanic, depending on which KoF we're talking about here. It's not that many mechanics, really. The hard part about KoF is the movement and speed of the game. Most anime games have more mechanics.
