At the risk of sounding like a complete shill, I'd recommend Root Double to you guys. I haven't beaten it but its been pretty good definitely better than the initial routes of Ever17. I'd say definitely pick it up when its on sale.

It's a lot of repeated scenes because it likes to throw in pointless recaps and flashbacks. In fact, a lot of the game you have to go through can be left out since it doesn't relate to the main mystery which isn't even that good at the end. All of the twists you can guess quite easily so it's more of a story of when is everyone going to get out.
