I think the original Doom's soundtrack was better, but this has some decent riffs.
Kind of expected more from Mick Gordon though
It's ok. There are a couple of pretty good tracks.
I kind of have a personal problem with it though. Doom's music was inspired by Metallica, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Pantera. Now, I've grown out of most of that stuff, but I feel it's something that defines Doom for me.
The music in 4oom draws mostly from industrial and hardcore metal. It fits fine with the game, but I prefer the more melodic tunes of old Doom.
Also a nice touch is the music doesn't just keep playing when you've killed all the enemies and are wandering around the level looking for keys or secrets. Early on it's replaced with some industrial and atmospheric sound, but once you get to Hell the non-combat music is kinda operatic and has choirs singing, which is fitting for fucking Hell.

I would have preferred some actual music and not just ambiance, but it's not too much of a problem.

It was a let down, I was expecting better from Mick
Personally I think he went a bit too much with the electronic parts of music
>>337621238
It's industrial mostly. I would have liked a little thrash metal thrown in there somewhere, but what they have isn't bad and fits the tone of the game.

The music during combat is definitely very energetic, I just think it has the problem a lot of hardcore music has in that it's focused on rhythm and going really fast over having nice melodies and memorable tunes.
There's a hardcore band that does very well with making memorable songs, but I'm not gonna name them because everyone will call me a pleb for liking them even though I don't care for most metal anymore.

This is probably the only song I like. The other ones are kind of forgettable.
They rely on E1M1 a little bit too much. I get it, it's iconic, but there were also a lot of other amazing songs in the original. Where's my E1M9 remix?

Wolfenstein deserves its own DLC, where Doomguy meets BJ in Hell/through time travel fuckery and they both wreck some serious shit.
