I'll be honest and say the Nameless King is not a hard fight in the slightest.
He may do crazy damage but he telegraphs every single move and gives you a lot of time to dodge anything thrown at you.
The real challenge in that fight is the one before it - storm drake or whatever

Nameless king isnt even that hard. His attacks are pretty slow and telegraphed.
Its the fucked up dragon phase that'll exhaust you of all your estus.

basically straight swords are the only viable weapons in this game. In terms of effectiveness using anything else is gimping yourself. There's so much variety in weapon choices but there's one objectively correct choice. And that's what upsets people.

a heavy dark sword with high strength will outdamage any other straight sword. And no it wouldn't be okay, all of those weapons are broken. dark sword is just the most broken.
Dark Sword isn't even broken against bosses, they don't get stunned or affected by phantom hits like players.
I fought this guy for the first time with Dark Sword before it became a meme, then Gundyr's Halberd, then Profaned Greatsword. Gundyr's was the easiest due to range and lack of stamina consumption, Dark Sword was only a little easier than the greatsword.
I'm not even biased here, that halberd is my weaponfu.

the only straight sword with compareable damage is the broadsword though
which at 40/40 with refind is 487 AR while the dark sword is 494 all the other straight sword do a least 30 less damage and this is all before shit like sacred oath and resins/spells are in the mix. no straight sword should be anywhere close to that amount. considering the astora UGS does 599 with the same set up while taking triple the stamina and over twice as long to swing

Surprising lack of Lorian's armor. Also a lack of Anri's sword.
Lorian's armor is pretty much the best without having to invest a lot into vitality, and Anri's sword heals you and does 400 AR with 40 luck.
