Healers are alot like waiters. In America they're all bottom barrel cunts who expect more than they deserve because they're directly servicing people. And if they think YOU aren't acting the way you should they'll refuse to do their job/do illegal things. And they still expect extra compensation/flattery at the end of it all.

I've had healers try to pull the "I just won't heal you then and let's see how you like it" and we just had the black mage start tossing out a cure now and then being both a better healer and contributing more damage than healers that spam stone and think they are helping

Even your fucking class quests drive the point home that you are meant to deal damage WHILE healing. It's part of final fantasy you dumbass. Why would it be any different just because it's an MMO.
Healers make up around 15-20% of the party's dps in light party dungeons. Tanks are also expected to do around 15-20% and the dps themselves should be doing around 30-40% each. Yes that can result in over 100% if everyone is working full capacity, but that's because you CAN(and frankly should) dps fast enough to break mechanics unless you're undergeared.
And don't act like it's fucking hard. OH NO I CAN'T PRESS MY REGEN BUTTON AND USE MY COOLDOWNS.

It's not.
Healer > Tank > DPS
Without a healer you have no way to not die (Unless you roll WAR)
Without a tank the healer has to attempt to outheal the bosses damage without getting instagibbed.
Without DPS it just takes 3 hours to complete one boss.
However you have shit like enrage timers and tankbusters to ensure that every class is needed.

If the mobs don't hit hard you don't need healers, if the mobs don't have a stacking debuff you don't need tanks.
The mechanics are designed to include health bar wack-a-moles and mindless meat shields because they don't contrubite to killing anything. Just holding threat and keeping people topped off.
