Have you played it at all? It was the first game I ever owned, and I can go back and play it today and still have a blast.
Hard mode just gives you less time and puts time bombs in rooms at random, which keeps you on your toes. There are a lot of strategies you can discover for yourself based on the fact that the AI is pretty old (the enemy Spy somehow knows where the briefcase is and goes straight for it; if there are both elevators and stairs, take the option he doesn't take).
Still a fun game. Short though. I'd give it 7/10 for its time, you can beat it in half an hour if you're good (only 32 levels, and I've beaten at least 12 of them in under a minute). I don't know how much fun you'd have emulating it, because the controls and dexterity needed for quick movement don't translate well to a keyboard.
