You know something I am starting to think the baby was cut out, no joke.
Think about it, you got everything, even the hand animations, so why would they be cryptic about it, if the baby is invisible why not have it shown then turn invisible.
I think they wanted to make this a fight similar to DS1 "fucking forget the dogs name sorry" where it makes you question why you are there, and since its an optional boss even more so.
But it was to much, its to much to have the player kill a baby, so they make it invisible, and edit out the sounds of it essentially being brutally murdered. Remember, he goes berserk in the mid of the fight, thats the point the baby is supposed to die, yet you still hear it crying.
But this audio you hear it scream and splat.
I think there was a whole lot of shit cut out of this game to make it less spooky when in reality this may have been something that would make Bloodborne blush.
