What is it about WWE 2K14 that makes it so popular? I used to watch a lot of rumbles when they aired a few years ago with whatever game they were using at the time and then discovered this series through this thread.
Is the customizable fighters/intros and all that just not as supported in the more recent games? Was WWE 2K15 shit or something?

The modern games have severely limited creation suites, no story creator (so no cutscenes), and they cut a ton of match types to boot.

Ok where to start?
-On the Gary/Illidan thing, throughout the season Gary spite booked against Red and Illidan, and after some discussion, the two formed Shadow Ball Valley and fucked Gary and Armstrong up at End Game.
-Vegeta won the King of the Beach KotR tournament and became King Vegeta, and has been seeking to run VGCW for some time now.
-Dracula went on the run of his life and beat good champion Sabin, becoming the champ himself, with a defense against Air Man at End Game.
-Groose continually was a terrible boss for Heavy and Haggar, including neglecting Haggar's concussion problems, which, thanks to Vegeta having booking powers, Heavy fixed by pounding Groose's pompadour into the dirt and winning the Casual Championship at End Game.
-The Dragons continued to rack up a ton of defenses while having terrible matches with the Birds of Prey C. Falcon and Ezio, Toejam and Earl, and even the quality machines of the season, Salvation Ops, Jensen and Snake. They remained champs at the end of it.
-Haggar, after managing to recover from his concussion problems, remembered Guile was the start of his problems due to pulling the strings of the Ring Rangers in S7, and fucked him up at End Game.
-And finally, the main plot. A being called the Gameshark fucked around with matches in silly ways throughout the season, quickly turning malicious by corrupting DK. Tracking it down were Segata and Octodad, with Segata fighting the corrupted DK in WWE 13, and Octodad fighting the heel Break Man, who sought the power of the Gameshark, in 2k14. The faces managed to prevail, saving DK, but Segata had to sacrifice himself to keep the Gameshark sealed, while DK decided to stay behind on the island to watch over it.
