I have worked in the media for some time, there are things you should understand.
A) People get a job based on who they know, and what they can bring, being good at what they do is not a bonus unless you are talking science, politics or any high brow publication where you do get paid for an article. For vidya, music etc you are basically paid to shill or copy paste press release articles, it is worth more that you know who can pay you for an article or who can pay you for an advertisement, having good content is somewhat irrelevant to it all as long you have traffic or get dosh, for example people who do know how to get good traffic and sponsors move up to the next tier, which is entertainment news, or gadgets. People who are fucking great at getting views, and sponsors move to the Gold tier which is Tourism or might become Editors. Videogames by comparison are shit tier, as it is pretty much a dead end job, you are literally nobody.
B) Internet killed gamer publications, be glad you get Giant Bomb.
C) It fucking sucks, you have no idea how awful it is for a non gamer or for a 20 to 30 something to review a videogame they clearly have no interest in. It is kinda like game testing, kids imagine that working at Nintendo is awesome, not that they will be hugging invisible walls fro hours looking for glitches. Same thing, you won't be reviewing the next assassin's cred, you will be reviewing smartphone shit, and you would be lucky if you so much get to play Call of Duty for an hour, that is the other thing, you need to rush the review because there are commitments to early press copies.

I was like 3 typing in the command in DOS to play wolfenstein on floppy, my first game ever.
It's not a very good game, it has some of the worst things in FPS today like animation locked melee and borderlands guns. It also spits in the face of John Carmack with no open source id5 and last of all its published by Bethesda so that's probably where a lot of the bulldog comes from. They should just have MachineGames do Doom instead of id at this point.

Not to wholly believe that the final product is going to turn out well, but footage has come to light that the final product may be as high octane as the older games. There's still easily a chance that if the player slowed down, then there might have been no challenge, but now there's a possibility that a lot that has been shown before for the single player was just pandering to the lowest common denominator. Multiplayer will probably still be fucked based on its core systems, but the single player might turn out to be enjoyable.
