Anyone remember playing this glorious game?
It was like counter strike but with aliens and humans and it had Strategy game elements like buildings and research.
Better than NS2.

specialists i played too on lan parties. oh what a great game.
makes me wish for a half life 2 deathmatch game with crazy specialist-inspired moves and time alteringand buildings .... and comletely alter-able environment like minecraft
I moved to a different city to play 24/7 with my room mate. He later committed suicide. He was a great comm. Htecc//wa//us Half asian guy who couldnt get a break.
I used to look at the days since online on my steam friends list until they just switched it to more than a year ago
NS was such a good game...and then they made NS2 and everything was too god damn fucking fast, mother of fuck it was hard to shoot skulks

I couldn't get enough of the game for a while either. I stopped playing other games because they didn't compare to that feeling of every game being fresh.
The possibilities this game offered at the time were mindblowing to me. Also i liked how safe the beginning of the game was when everybody was still low tech:
Humans stuck together to speedbuild the buildings while weak skulks would head out to keep the humans busy so the gorges could get ressources and a hive.
NS2 was the first early access game i ever preordered.
bought 4 copies to give away too.
still my biggest gaming regret.

its a fine enough game its just its got technical problems and in the year 2016 everyone is bad at games so your team or commander is always trash
NS2 doesn't feel the same but, it's still a fun game.

I never played NS2, my pc was too shitty at the time and i had no money and then i kind of forgot about it. It had some pretty big shoes to fill...
I liked that after one particular update of the game alienbuildings too could suddenly be cloaked by the sensory chamebrs.
That cloaking mechanic was awesome. It meant aliens could hide in eeeeevery corner of the map.
Do people still even play NS1?
Does it even exist anymore?

Natural Selection is a great game, 'til you discover that the balance is screwy as hell. If the aliens don't win early, they almost always lose.
this guy

i never got the hang of it but some people were so good using the jetpack they were almost invincible.
If everyone would have my jetpack skills the game would have been perfectly balanced ^^
i really liked how onos could eat marines. When trapped in the belly after one update there suddenly was this fullscreen goatse.
Some onos were so good at eating even when in a jetpack they always got me.

Pretty sure NS1 is 100% dead now
NS2 has about 200 players
NS is kill
Then there were right click menus to buy shit and upgrade.
A good commander would drop ammo on the marines or heal them and fortify every position.
It was so fun when suddenly a building to defend a place was placed right in front of you and you had to build it holding e and decide whether it was safe enough to build.
