OP is objectively wrong here. I hadn't even heard of this Churches band before, and don't traditionally like this type of music. But I have to agree with the article: It's similar to the general feel of the original Mirror's Edge.
Keep in mind that even in the case of the original, the melodic "instrumental version" that was actually used in the game, was much better than the full sung version. If that's the case here too, then I can imagine the general melody off of this being a very good fit for the game.
