Most PC games nowadays activate on Steam anyway, it's required to run their physical copies. Hell, some games don't even bother putting the game on the disc, it's just steam_installer.exe.

Been playing the single-player campaign for a few hours now, and so far I have to say that it's been nothing but a pleasant surprise.
It genuinely just feels like a modern DOOM game.
Shitpost all you like, but the game is made entirely with classic DOOM in mind, and any fan of classic DOOM will find exactly what they're looking for.

Apart from those things its good. I don't really care for the upgraded weapons and stuff but they don't really bother me. The rune minigames are good, weapons are good - and I am so glad that you don't have to use the weapon wheel.

Played the campaign now for 8h, still not finished but i'm the all secrets kind of guy, but why not get the most playtime out of the game.
I still don't like the quickkill -> get health mechanic, it's not that much different from regenerating "heal behind a wall" health.
Also i still don't like that it's a spawnfest. Over are the days of opening a door and finding a shitton of enemies, or suddenly a hatch opens behind you with a shitton of enemies, they all spawn behind you and if you destroy a bloody ball, more enemies will spawn.
after 2 hours i gave the game a 6,5/10 and "wait till 20 bucks", after 8 hours i give it a 7,5/10 "it's even ok for 30".
Some of the unlockable stuff makes the gameplay better, much, much better.
The shitty guns are fixed by their upgrades and the slow gameplay and quickkill mechanic can be fixed by using 3 runes: faster quickkills, jumping quickkills, get movementspeed when quickkill.
If some of the unlockables would have been in the game from the start, it would have made a far better first impression if you ask me.
