This. Why would you need a mousemat these days? Mechanical mice literally don't exist anymore and optical mice are more than plenty accurate enough. If you want a smoother surface, spray silicone on the bottom of your mouse. That way it literally almost slides on its own.

Tactile sensation. I can feel whatever is under my mouse, and I'm just so used to the fabric that sliding it around on my glass top feels weird as fuck.
I have an oppai mousepad my mom bought for me.
I bought the collector's edition of cataclysm for some reason and it came with a surprisingly good quality mousepad, been using it for about 5 years now and it's still just as good as when I got it.
Only downside is it probably looks autistic to anyone who sees it, I completely forget it's a WoW mouse sometimes and I haven't played the game in years
