My first question was why? I read Berserk but I couldn't understand why there was an eclipse in DSIII. Once you killed the dancer there's suddently an eclipse with a beam of light/fire that goes somewhere on the ground (not even at the klin of the first flame).
its the end of god days, the sun is literally turning into a human sun/moon/whatever or just dying
the whole series was about gods resisting nature and this is the actual end, hence the londor edgelord ending where we embrace the darkness

it's just an indication that the fire is fading faster since the lords(and their flame) is in your possession, the light going down is simply more symbolism for the fire fading (light leaking), don't read too much into it

Dark Souls devs are open about basing their game on Berserk, so I guess it's more of an homage than a ripoff, and considering how Miura already said that he likes the game it's unlikely he'll do something about it.
