How do I recruit more of those "special troop" viking raiders in CKII? I squandered most of them trying to take a single damn county instead of properly raiding. Should I just restart?
No idea what you mean by "special troops" but the marshal can spawn raiders and you then have a few months go raid with them or they leave. You only get them while you are at peace though.

Oh, I meant to say "special event troops", in this start you get like 6000 raiders that are independent of your levies. And good guess but the Marshall doesn't have the option despite being pagan, maybe it's because they're feudal instead of tribal? Thanks anyway, though.

You could try to do a prepared invasion, it'll cause special event troops like these to spawn for about 2 years or until you declare war, more troops spawn if you're invading a larger realm.
This can only be done once per character however.

Also, when I form the Russian Empire, is it better to go ahead and destroy all the kingdom titles under me, or should I hold on to at least one of them? This is the first time I've actually been able to make an empire, so I'm not sure what's better in the long run, especially since most duchies aren't viceroyalties.
