I tried playing this a while back but it seemed like you were forced to fight random battles and could only avoid a portion of them. Am I missing something (is there an easy way to run from them if you don't have that avoid-meter thing)? I really hate random battles.
Wild Arms 3 was the only game I've seen that the female protagonist wasn't completely unbelievable and unlikable. I could honestly see her as a leader instead of just a mouthpiece.

Later on in the game you get a summon with a Run Away/Teleport spell that allows you to run from battles, but unfortunately you can regularly run from them.
Collecting Eagle Sigils decreases the ENC amount you pay for skipping battles.
