I'll go first: Zenyatta doesn't need to maintain line of sight to his heal target in order for the healing orb to stay on. Or at the very least, give a longer window for him to lose line of sight before the ball comes back.

If you give more Heroes sprint, what would you say 76's new movement skill should be? If you ask me, though, I think that the characters that lack movement skills either don't need them, or don't need a sprint function. Plus, replacing 76's sprint kind of throws off his utility as a general well-rounded assault character. He's fairly fast, fairly tough, does good damage and has a healing beacon for him whoever's backing him up. Meant to get on the point first and cover/aid his team bringing up the rear.

Personally, I think McCree (I know, I know, but hear me out) needs to have the cooldown on his combat roll reduced slightly (I'm thinking to five seconds) OR increase the distance he leaps when he rolls; either would make the movement ability more useful than 'free reload every eight seconds'

The travel time is deliberate to keep you out of the fight longer, making healing and especially several of the Support Ultimates (Resurrect and Teleporter most of all) more critical.

The tools Overwatch gives you to solve problems are contained in a single button rather than a complex and difficult set of movements and/or offensive measures. The entire game revolves around identifying the correct rock-paper-scissors situation to press your button, then pressing it. There is no serious skill of any kind involved. You're going through the motions of what you think a video game entails.

The miniscule difference between a week-old Overwatch player and a year-old Overwatch player is lost in the cloud of instakill ultimates, teleports and AOE abilities. I kind of like that, actually, particularly if it could somehow obscure anyone inside it from coming up on Widowmaker's infrared.

What should his ult be instead? Maybe a kind of gunslinger 'in-the-zone' moment where he moves slower, but fires and reloads way faster without accuracy penalty. Lasts a short duration, but can be prolonged by a small amount of seconds for every elimination you get.

I think they'd really fix the majority of the problem by making her take a couple extra seconds to freeze you.

She effectively deals like 600 DPS, because it only takes a second to freeze and you're just dead if you get frozen no matter how high your health is. The second she gets remotely close to you, it just feels so pointless to even fight back.

Also a turret is rarely alone, it is usually defended by the torbjorn and another player. You can't fight them because you will die in 5 seconds from taking constant perfect-aim turret shots.

I don't think it should be nerfed into the ground just make its reaction time a little more forgiving or make its bullets slightly imperfect so a player can weave it just like any other player.

The problem is like you said, the long walks are supposed to fill in for respawn time, but it's a shit system. Let's compare is to TF2:

Sure in TF2 you have to wait to respawn, but this allows you to have forward spawns so when you revive you are right at the front. This also prevents stalemates at final points by giving the defenders longer spawns, a penalty for being on their last legs and spawning next to the point.

Overwatch tried to be fast and fun by limiting respawn times to the same few seconds, the same amount as the killcam. Unfortunately this means you spawn way too far back from the first point making those fall super quick and spawning too fast on last points, making those way too hard to push into.

mei is extremely shit against any proficient team as she relies entirely on taking and winning a 1v1.

a 1v1 does not occur with a semi-skilled team, especially if they know a mei is roaming.

Truthfully, Blizzard just needs to add some weights in against things that are unlikely to be interesting plays of the game. A player killed 4 other people and that adds up to enough points to be play of the game? Check if it's a character with a team-wiping ultimate and if they activated that ultimate in the seconds proceeding the play. If so, disqualify it. Same thing for Bastion, just check if he was in turret mode when he racked up his points to put him in PotG position. If so, chuck it and go to the next highest play.

The most interesting and fun plays are the great plays made without just pressing Q or holding LMB as Bastion, but we're stuck with watching the same shit at the end of every match because it's strictly point based.

The extra hundred HP is because Roadhog lacks any form of protective skill. He doesn't have armor, a shield, a barrier or anything like that to stop the hail of bullets he's going to be soaking in. The obscenely good health recovery is to mitigate that. Believe it or not he's balanced as he's the only Tank that has something that others don't. He can't protect himself or absorb damage to become stronger. He can't become invulnerable. He has to be on the frontlines and a Roadhog has to hope he has support from teammates in order for him to push.

She has infinite bullets. Well--every character has infinity bullets in this game but D.Va's gimmick is that when she's in her Gundam she doesn't have to reload. The slowed movement as she's shooting is Blizzard's attempt to balance the fact that a player can literally hold M1 forever without needing to worry about ducking behind cover as the reload animation plays.

It is but it's not super helpful. What is helpful is offering counter heroes and really drilling in the point that if one approach doesn't work then there are several others. I've one-shot Bastion as Widowmaker from a distance. I've seen Bastion dismantled when flanked by Tracers. I've seen Bastion burst into treats if a Pharah lands a couple of good hits. He's a good character--it's just that he's shitter friendly and certain objectives play to his strengths because of chokepoints and shit.

It's just not fun to go against. I wish he had significant damage drop off the longer he was in turret mode or that there was a wind-up he'd have to undergo before the bullets start flying. Something. Anything.

i actually think they're easier to land in a sniper rifle situation. landing them on a guy who you're dueling in mid-close range is actually hard as fuck if that guy is decent. you can't really *lead* targets that constantly run back and forth, use movement abilities, jump, etc. enemy genjis rarely landed shurikens on me also because it's very easy to avoid them if you just try. trying to land shurikens in close-mid range is like trying to land shots with a hitscan gun with 0.3 second input lag. it is just straight up unlikely that you'll maintain a good accuracy

I'd be down for him getting 50 more health if his damage is lowered from 45->35. He two shots 200 health character with headshots if they have discord on them, so if he had 200 HP the combination of glass cannon damage with not-quite glass cannon HP might be a little much. Half the reason Symmetra was nerfed was because stacking Zenyatta was a thing, after all, and her shields being lowered from 50 to 25 is half the reason why he's not all that good anymore.

Sure, he's still sort of playable if you have Symmetra on your team since he won't get one shot by Widow bodyshots, but since he only has 25 HP left an uncharged click will finish him off. Also, 175 is pretty trivial for Tracer or Genji to deal with since he can't do much of anything short of getting lucky and nailing them in the face.

His weapon is supposed to mitigate that. It's an AoE/cone so it can hit multiple targets without much effort. A player can't strafe or elude--they're caught in Winston's clutches as soon as he unleashes hell. Tracer is especially fucked unless she warps a shit ton of times and otherwise jukes Winston. Also it eats through shields and barriers to deal direct damage. It cannot be stopped.

His barrier is a little funky but once you learn what it can specifically do you can get an idea of how to apply it. When you're inside of it you can't be damaged. If an enemy comes inside of of it you can be damaged but if you move outside and they're still shooting then the barrier is what's eating the damage instead of Winston. Weird, right?

He's a big fucking target, sure. He's there to distract the enemy team but for a tank he isn't especially worth anything beyond disruption. I just personally hate that he can't compete with offensive heroes. They'll wear his ass out. But Winston shines when he's going after defense/support heroes because they can't deal enough damage to stop hot monkey dick nor can they get out of your cone of range so they're completely fucked.

This. The right click->melee->dash combo at close range is 28*3 + 30 + 50 = 164 damage. If you execute it in sequence each action animation cancels the previous action, meaning you can basically do that combo in an instant. I'm guessing she's probably harder to deal with on consoles because she's basically a no-aim-required kind of character whereas countering her requires headshots.

I heard Pharah was really good on consoles for similar reasons. At high MMR on PC she's usually a terrible pick since everyone's just gonna go 76/McCree and fuck her brains out, but on console the hitscan counters aren't nearly as effective so she gets a bit of a free ride to bomb people from the air.

Well, technically her hair color changes in the two (horrible) goth skins, so maybe we'll get some better legendary skins for her eventually. It is weird how little the hair color changes on most heroes for their recolors when you compare them to the dramatic palette swaps they use in Heroes of the Storm.

The popping ult while stunned is really only a major buff in vs Mei fights, where Mei has to be a lot more careful about when and where she freezes d.va, though it's pretty good against Roadhog too, who's already a pretty big counter to d.va.

As for the shooting while flying thing, that sounds kinda OP, but I don't think it would be that bad. She can't have her shields up while shooting, so when charging in to battle it would make you choose between going in with your shields up or guns blazing.

He does have damage falloff at long range. His fire rate is high enough that if you're hitting some headshots it hardly matters. All hitscan "gun" weapons except for Widowmaker's sniper rifle (and assault rifle, oddly) have damage falloff at range.

For reference, Bastion does 6-20 damage in Recon and 4-15 in Sentry, but since he fires about 30 rounds per second (or roughly 1800 RPM) in Sentry mode it's enough to wreck anything regardless.

It's funny how much people underestimate his Recon gun, though. It's not as accurate as 76 because 76 gets three perfectly accurate shots before he gets any bloom at all, but at close range Bastion does roughly the same if not more DPS if you're hitting all the shots.

Right now she is an amazing offensive hero, but a crappy defensive one. Nerfing her rifle, but giving the mine a short-acting ability denial could counterbalance this, and it's not any more or less cheap than stun mechanics which are present in the game anyhow. It would also give something that could be useful for those that can't aim even though OW has the easiest sniper character seen in eons.

D.va's niche is about being amazing at flanking, even better than Tracer or Genji, but being much less mobile while in the fight. Making her move faster makes her too much like a Tracer or Genji, her damage and range needs to be upped instead.

She's not as powerful as a Bastian or Roadhog, but can easily flank the enemy in seconds, and has ridiculous survivability.

I think it's actually because it's loosely based on someone who works at Blizzard and she has a very distinctive short pink hairstyle. It's also in half her sprays, her player icon, etc. They decided it was part of her character's "identity" for better or for worse.

If HotS is any example to go by then over time we're going to see more skins that diverge further and further from that character identity, though, so fingers crossed Zarya gets something decent.

This was as much of a problem as Discord LoS, but most people weren't around that early in beta and don't know about the issues it caused. Putting Harmony on Tracer, Genji, Winston or whoever else wants to fuck over their backline was a HUGE pain in the ass to deal with.

I'd be okay with it being maybe 5 seconds instead of 3 seconds for Harmony before it returns to no LoS, but that's still a stretch - remember that you only have to catch a glimpse of them within 3 seconds for the timer to reset, so it's actually possible for someone to be outside LoS most of the time and still keep the orb up. They just can't, y'know, be on the other side of the map constantly being healed for free.

Only a retard can die to Bastion, because his entire kit is neutralized if you duck in and out of cover while taking pot shots. Eventually, he either has to commit to a heal (and you can kill him), moves to stop you from abusing the corner (and you can kill him), or does neither (and your potshots eventually kill him).

Mei can only kill you if you let her get the jump on you (so you deserve to die), you attack before baiting her wall and heal out of her (so you deserve to die), or you try to run away in the middle of the fight without forcing her to heal first (so you deserve to die).

Make D Va's shots do more damage or less damage falloff, but have it use ammo/need to be reloaded. I like the fact that she's supposed to only be effective in close range, but currently her weapons have no effective range, they are shit at point blank and even more shit at close range. D.va can't outfight anyone in a 1v1, she doesn't do damage and can't maneuver while firing so if you happen to get the drop on someone they can almost always disengage or run to their team. Against a team that's communicating D.Va literally has no way to flank to properly. Meanwhile, Tracer is able to burst enemies and easily escape, Genji has large burst, a double jump, climbing and reflect if his fight starts to go bad, and tanks like Winston are able to disrupt back lines way better than D.va. She's just not good and her ability to move about quickly is ruined by her massive hitbox, her massive head hitbox and her slow normal speed which causes her to pick between using her boost to engage in a fight, escape, or chase.

Bastion does actually get used on Lijang by Luminosity Gaming (Seagull's team) but they build the entire comp around it. There are meta situations where Bastion is amazing but the Bastion player has to have very, very good tracking and his team has to be playing to support him and keep him from getting harassed, one shot, knocked off the map, etc.

I don't think I've seen any games where Mei gets used much in competitive play but I haven't watched too many VODs.

Torbs turret does more damage over time
it doesn't see you immediantly but the longer it shoots the faster it shoots.

It doesn't punish people that check corners, but it does punish those that try to ignore it.


If you heal it once you heal tripple what you normally heal, every heal after is one third of the normal heal. The heal resets after 3 or so seconds.

You now heal the thing fast enough to save it, and fully heal it, but you're now inclined to kill whoever is shooting it before you heal it again.
It stops turtling and promotes the double team gameplay.

D.va's a lot more effective outside of her mech than most people figure. She's good at getting in there, getting something done, and then running away, letting her mech get destroyed if she has to.

Her pistol does very nearly almost as much damage as her canons, and with better range, and her hit box is tiny and her movement speed decent. On top of that, it's surprisingly hard to hit D.va when she escapes from her mech, and people are just unbelievably retarded when it comes to remembering that she's there at all. In a lot of fights, even if your mech gets destroyed, you can still finish off whoever you were fighting with your pistol and escape.

They already said they plan on doing that in the long term. I'm not sure when that's going to start, though. The main takeaway at the time was that console issues wouldn't affect PC balance, but the reverse is going to have to be true if they're going to continue supporting the console versions.

Blizzard has a terrible track record for support any console releases but I think they have said that they're going to do things differently this time around. We'll have to see if that actually happens. Personally, I don't really give a shit since I'll be on PC.

auto aims ults can be stopped if your good and the auto aim weapons suck.

Soldier 76 ult isn't going to kill tanks instantly only squishy heroes will die plus you will burn through your ammo and reload alot.

Mcree's ult takes time based on the heroes health and plus you will die if you don't use it in a good position.

Reapers ult has a range to it and plus you move slow and can die.

Winston's gun sucks

Symmetra gun takes time to do tons of damage
her turrets AI controlled turret of coarse auto aim and the turrets die in one no matter what.

Torbjorns turret again AI and also it has a range so snipers should get their shit together and kill the turret at a range. but for real torbjorn is op

Roadhog's chain aim assist sucks cause people miss alot.

all so the other heroes have faults too

Bastions turret has range for damage the farther your target the less damage they will take so again snipers counter.

Reapers guns shotguns with spread shot hard to miss duh. also close range for lots of damage.

Tracer primary guns sub machine guns with tiny bit of spread also you close range when firing.

Reinhardt GIANT HAMMER duh, but for real you can miss fast characters and good Genji's

Zenyatta orb of discard of course its a skill it locks on with out it Zenyatta would suck.

Winston ult also melee of course your not going to miss but also it does piss poor damage its a push off point ult.

Pharah ult is rockets, they explode hard to miss. also the ult can be stopped cause your standing still in the middle of the sky most of the time.

Roadhog's gun shotgun SPREAD SHOT. plus ranged damage. also his ult spread even more then your regular shot.

Zarya ult is a black hole it sucks people in. also its does no damage its just a setup ult for other heroes and Zarya is the hardest tank to play.

Tracer ult its a sticky bomb, plus 90% of people use its at close range so hard not to hit,

Mei primary is a close range spray of ice that slow characters and freeze them.

Mei ult aoe attack of course its hits

Genji ult its a LONG ASS SWORD FOR MELEE plus Genji dies really really fast if your not smart

D.va guns are basically shotgun machine guns with spread

To be fair the cheating accusations against Surefour and Taimou have tainted the tournaments a bit. I think the only reason they haven't gotten kicked off their respective teams is how little coverage the beta tournaments had and how small the prize pools were. Once post-release tournaments start happening - especially anything leading up to a Blizzcon finals - there's going to be a lot more scrutiny and the shit they're pulling isn't going to fly.

Funny you should say that, because in a fight with Winston and Roadhog she wins every time because she outputs more damage than them up close.

D.Va is able to shred everyone when actually up in their face. Her only issue is her large critical hitbox in the middle of her mech.

But that's mitigated by the fact that outside of the mech it takes all of a 2 minutes max to get a new mech if you're landing shots with her pistol.

The fact that D.Va almost never actually dies is absurd as it is. Literally git gud.
