It's one of the most acclaimed series to barely get talked about. Everyone will just throw buzzwords like cinematic and emotional around and not actually talk about the game itself and how it plays because it's a fucking boring shooter.
The fact that something so juvenile is being touted as a masterpiece when the same reviewers shit on other games similar (and most of the time better than it) to it then it just screams paid off.
I mean, you barely even see people talk about the STORY a month later. It's just stroking of the egos for review scores. No one actually talks about the games themselves.
Unbiased review:
Games fun, but short. I think my total playtime came out to 12 hours long for a mostly single player experience.
Lots of varied locations, which was my biggest complaint about 3, which was mostly deserts.
Music was generic as hell.
Nathan's brother had the flattest character imaginable. It's literally Nathan, but older, less witty, and smokes (and yet somehow after smoking for 15 years, is able to do high aerobic workouts without missing a beat).
I HATE that they left room for a sequel with either the little girl or Nathan's brother or even Nathan himself. Just screams of "Well, we might come back to it if we need more money".
Visually might be one of the best games I've ever seen. And somehow it runs fantastic at the same time. I only had the framerate drop one time and that might have been because I had been playing for 5+ hours straight.
Gunplay is still shit. Stealth is much better with the addition of Battlefield/MGSV-esque marking feature.
Biggest complaint I had that is unique to this game, is just how much emphasis they put on partners. So many times I'm trying to find out where to go next, only for the partner at the time to speak up and say "oh hey, there's something up there. Give me a boost", where you had no option to do anything before. It's not even like they are giving exposition at the time, it's just dead air where I'm trying to find out where to go before they speak up. If it happened a few times it wouldn't bother me, but it happens so fucking frequently. Like every chapter it happens at least once, sometimes even twice.
I'd give it an 8/10, but I think the 9 or 10/10's are overblown.

It is good. If your taste is cinematic games it is good. If that isn't your interest, if you liike games like STALKER or even Dark Souls where you more or less follow the story via your own means, then the story, graphics and gameplay won't matter because it holds your hand everywhere and it becomes a bore. Things like the grapple hook and stealth sections feel like gimmicks more than they do natural evolution of the series. There's no real challenge, it's setpiece after setpiece where the transition between them isn't as smooth as previous titles. I had deja vu from MW3 where the game practically broke down if you stopped doing what it wanted you to do. And the story is pretty meh.

It's hard for a videogame like Uncharted to do that right. Take a look at Raiders of the Lost art. The supernatural stuff is hinted at the whole movie but it's not seen until the very end. In Uncharted 1, you had the mutants come out in the last act but have to kill them as well as the bad guys because otherwise what was the point of introducing them if you never fight them.
