SC2. Was awful in the first place, only reason it ever survived was because blizzard and kespa threw money at it and literally forced players contracted to play Broodwar to play it.

It's a snoozefest. Fun with friends, but with soloqueue it's shit. But then, even with friends I found it to be shit. There isn't any fighting mechanics built in like League. They have to understand their core audience is blizzdrones who have no friends so that's why it failed.

Who cares about true damage? Tanky characters are harder to kill than squishy mobile characters, the end result is the same.

Now the "management" part of the game sure is different, but the gameplay is fundamentally the same. That's the problem, if the game had been released at the same time as LOL or before, there could have been a competition. But now there's not only LOL, there's also DOTA. 2 popular games for the same genre is already too much.

Honestly the only MOBA that was really different and could have been a hit was Bloodline Champions. But Funcom.

its impossible to be matched agianst a team that has a warrior if your team doesnt also have one. Also the matchmaking tries to balance classes in general

25 minute thing is UNIQUE. every other moba takes forever or people just give up. it has snowballing, LIKE MOBAS SHOULD. and unlike dota or league, it has strong comeback mechanics

The reason HotS was a failure is because it is the worst example of modern Blizzard game design. That is, putting up walls around the metagame and demanding people play it in a very specific way.
There is not much experimentation to be done in terms of hero builds (as there are no items, only passive talents and a choice between a couple abilities), and if you want to win you MUST chase the map objective each and every game.
The game even tells you, constantly, "hey the map objective is about to spawn! Better get on that shit!"

If I had to think of a cause I'd say it's technical problems. Heroes of the Storm works like shit unless you have a really good internet and a pretty decent PC, so unlike Dota or LoL it's not played by the usual 3rd worlders that populate f2p games.

There is something really horrible about how this game works, basically if you have shit ping, you're gonna have shit fps as well and it becomes unplayable.

The worst part is even the creative directors for WoW used to disagree with him. Having 'exclusive content' that 'not everybody gets to see' makes the world feel bigger because there are things in it you haven't seen.

I have actually and while they did increase the ability to comeback from a losing game, which was always there, it's one thing to try to comeback in a game that can last an hour vs 25 minutes. even though its possible in dota, it doesnt usually happen until you've been losing for 10 minutes straight and cant leave your base. usually you can only pull it off because of the heroes you have on your team, IE enigma or tidehunter or whatever. and if the enemy team has strong initiation, it cancels that out.

I think HotS comeback mechanics are too strong personally. I've been behind so many games only to win one teamfight and push all the way to core from it thanks to like, a level 20 Immortal or a Garden Terror at the right time.

Comebacks more or less don't exist in competent levels of LoL. DotA has my favourite take on it where most comebacks seem really deliberate, coming less out of opponents messing up and more out of a teamcomp finding its hotspot.

Fucking Hots is what some painful dota patches was a while ago. Dominate for 60 minutes, lose one fight, lose the game. Just that HOTS takes not long time at all. But those lvls you are ahead means shit, and 1 guy can fuck you over so hard it is not even funny. You cannot steamroll a lane and gain an advantage if 1 member of your team is a idiot too.

Then you win one teamfight and push core and win and the moron is all "YEAH I DID IT!".

All of their abilities and most of the talents feel boring. They even botched interesting concepts like Murky and Abathur. Literally the only fun I had was as Cho'Gall.
The maps are all bland and just kinda have paths and bushed slapped around, their objectives are all basically the same too.

I seriously dont see how anyone finds it fun, especially with how you're even more reliant on not having a retard on your team.

You can still take advantage of it. Splitpush with a a good pushing hero while rest of your team is holding their team from taking the objective. Also forcing fights is kinda okay. Current season of LoL consists of people running from turret to turret and no conflict. Games literally end with 2 kills in whole game and 50 minutes played.
