There's nothing to suggest that everybody else in the Uncharted universe can do what Nathan does. If everyone could then that would just under sell Nathan as a character and not make him special and there wouldn't be a point to this series. Superman wouldn't be so super if everyone on Earth could do what he does. Of course goons hurt him when they shoot him, just like how Superman has weaknesses. In a series that wants to be taken seriouly they have some sort of struggle for the protagonist to face. Whether or not it's well written is something else entirely.

No, I understand how it works and more or less that not everything works in fiction. Owning a PMC in the Uncharted universe shouldn't mean much to Nathan Drake since he's killed like hundreds of goons by now. Consistency is an important part of storytelling in fiction. If you just write for the sake of making things exciting you forsake your characters and setting you worked to establish. If you look at pro-wrestling you'll find many people that are against man-on-women fights. Why should that matter if it's all pre-determined? Because, and many will say this, it looks completely unbelievable. It hurts the suspension of disbelief, makes the whole thing look fake, makes the men look stupid and women look goofy. Would most of the things Nathan does be possible in real life? Probably not, but theres a suspension of disbelief present when you play any video game, watch any movie, or read any book. It's up to the writer to respect that, if not you get Vince Russo tier writing that's just trying to shock and excite people.
