I don't really agree, hacking at a Giant's ankles for 10 minutes whilst he hits you with badly telegraphed attacks sounds shitty. It's not like you can't do that anyway, it will just take longer.
In general Dark Souls suffers because it wants to give you huge enemies, but you aren't really equipped to fight them, so you end up chopping at their shins or hitting them from a convenient elevation in what is essentially a 3D "head and floating hands" set-up.
So they changed it to you and Siegward blowing up a firey, angry behemoth with magic wind swords. In terms of spectacle it's far better.

The only boss I really disliked was The Deacons of the Deep. Other than that, all the bosses range from okay to fucking excellent.Also, did anyone get a little teary-eyed in the final battle when Cinder's theme segued into Gwyn's?
