The market collapsed and most went back to being dirt cheap. Sort of like what happened with Amiibos.

No. There's only two ways this ends: either the market speculation dies off when the fad ends or the whole thing collapses after prices are inflated too high. Probably the former, I haven't heard of a terribly large collectors market existing around Angry Birds merch. Either way in the long run the only things that are going to be genuinely valuable are the truly rare examples of merchandise, and then only to collectors. In that case you could just sell them now while the fad is still hot. Regular merch is only going to be valuable in the extreme long term, think thirty years or more.
