Favorite Uncharted 4 set piece, /v/?
The clock tower and the rpg blowing the fuck outta everything are my two favs. The jeep piece was fun as well.
There are set pieces? I've been playing it for four hours now and it's been nothing but walking, cutscenes, and scripted climbing sequences. This shit makes TLOU look action-packed.
yeah that watchtower RPG part was pretty great. I'm doing the elevator part with Elena and I feel like this entire part could have been cut out as it feels like filler. The last chapter with nate and sam as kids was great and then we are back at shooting generic enemies.
Is this beginning of video games taking on CG films?
It looks unbelievable
There was only like 2 action set pieces in the entire game and they didn't come close to what we've seen before. U4 is worse than U3 imo, its basically a tech demo for TLOU2. Platforming is fine but this game is 80% platforming, too boring and not paced well with action. Its a shame because the shooting mechanics are very good, but you rarely even shoot people.
>>337302534
>This shit makes TLOU look action-packed.
please don't say that. I still want to get this game for the neo when I get it.It can't be worse than U3. r-right? Is it actually full on cutscenes? on the scale from Legend of Zelda OoT to Metal Gear Solid 4, how "cinematic" is it?
>>337302890
I would argue that the platforming is more rewarding than shooting people in U4. It's a lot more complex than in previous games and I actually looked forward to more platforming than shooting more generic guys in red hats.
>>337303032
U2 > U4 > DF > U3
>>337302534
I thought it started out really slow and boring. But the action definitely picks up as you go, and there are some fuckhuge and fun set pieces along the way.
Overall not as great as I hoped the game would be, it's prolly 2nd best UC to 2...but it's still a ton of fun.
>>337302890
If you want an action focused third person shooter play gears of war 3
Uncharted 4 seemingly is trageted toward a more older crowd, those who appreciate progression instead of being dangled with continuous flashy sequences.
>>337303181
this
Up until Scotland the game kind of glinds along at a slow pace but right after Scotland's boring cave sections it picks up a lot.
>>337303032
Have you played The Order: 1886?
>>337303140
meh, I'll probably still get it. But I was hoping it would have topped U2.Is it true there is no supernatural element in this one?
>>337303332
>spoiler
yes. It's my one true problem with the game

So was that the most realistic dog in any video game ever or what?
also Nathan Drake's daughter is the epitome of everything I hate in millennial woman. Please don't have her be the MC in the next Uncharted.
>>337302236
Why does the water look so bad in this one?
It looks worse than U3 in some places and looks worse than AC4 or GTA5 water
>>337303395
fucking really? what the fuck? why.All I want out of these games is some modern indiana jones style story with cool supernatural shit going on. please tell me there's some lost city at least.
>>337303520
nigga what? The water during the Madagascar chapters was amaing
>>337303623
Yeah and then you look down any of the cliffs in the other chapters and it looks like shit
>>337303520
that pic has been doctored in the photo mode. blorange filter on it i think.

>PS4 thread without shitposting
I'm proud of you guys.
>>337303572
there is, plenty of spooky shit even if none of it is magical in nature
Why does Naughtydog keep ruining the Uncharted games by putting enemies and gunfights? We want a treasure hunting game, not a boring gears of war shoot out (which you guys have never been able to do shooting mechanics good). The worst part of this game was all the shoot out parts which felt more like a chore to do. Best part is exploring the beautiful environment and interacting with the characters.
They need to take out any sort of antagonist in these games completely and just stick to exploring , puzzle/traps, platforming, and the fun adventure story.
>>337303572
yeah there is another lost city
>>337303692
>>337303782
I meant in this game, that's why i compared it to the other games. I already finished U4 myself. The only time where the water looks fine is when you drive around with the boat
Is multiplayer fun? Played the beta for an hour so and it was cool, how's the final product?
Visually the game is great. I also like how they didn't make Nathan or Victor look so much better than they should look. Both had very obviously aged, especially Victor who looked pretty fuckin old.
Still tho, I wish I had a homie who'd go to bat for me like Sully. Goddamn man he's the broest bro to ever grace a video game. I love that guy and he was only a side character in this franchise.
>>337303949
Uncharted 2 multiplayer but with a rope and perks
>>337303949
It's fun, but i like the one from TLOU way more
>>337302236
>mfw Iwatchedthis game just like all the other ones
decent action movie with nice scenery
>>337303934
Ahh I see. I didn't pay attention too closely 2bh. Kinda just went for the ride on the first playthrough but will explore more and shit on the 2nd.
>literally "slide down a slope and press L1" the game
>>337304236
The game looks amazing, but only if you look exactly where the game wants you to look
If you look down or behind the game usually looks pretty bad
>mfw nosupernatural shit.
I kind of liked that stuff.
Great platforming, amazing graphics, shit ton of treasures and notes, babby Nate sections were neat but the AI and enemy design is probably the series' worst.
>>337304456
Maybe they thought it wouldn't fit with the super realistic look, but then again the multiplayer has supernatural shit.
>>337304456
Pirates are pretty supernatural desu
>>337304465
I wish Nate and the other characters would react more to the notes that you find or draw in your book. In TLOU the characters always had shit to say
>>337304456
>expected ghost pirates the whole way through
>>337304456
Pirates literally built a super complex city out of wood and water on a super isolated island.
Ask yourself how the fuck that's possible without superpowers ay?
I really like the random small talk you can make with the triangle button throughout the game.
>>337304661
I thought that too. Sometimes Nate would comment on the note I would find and other times he didn't say anything. I thought the game just glitched when he didn't say anything. TLOU made everything feel tangible when Joel would comment on the items and it's really missing that player/character connection now that it's missing.
Will the desert in U3 or Journey ever be topped?
Seriously the sand in U3 looked unbelievably good
How did google earth not pick up a bunch of pirate ships and a huge pirate city right off the coast of Madagascar.
So is this version of young Nate canon?
I saw that there's story addon or something in the store.
Is that already playable?
>>337304923
Why didn't they go back in the end and dig up the 1 trillion dollars of treasure
>>337304923
Does Google Earth scan the oceans? I've found some rural parts of civilized land that aren't even uploaded. I doubt the entire ocean and it's countless islands are.
>>337304993
That's Nate at 13/14, U4 is Nate at 10/11
>>337305084
How is Nate not a multi billionair yet with all the small treasures he finds
>Has a smartphone
>keeps commenting on the fact that they don't have a camera to take photos of the amazing locations
Would Nate had been better off sticking with Chloe over Elena?
>>337305267
He'd probably be dead wih Chloe
>>337304716
Yes but compare that with UC 1 Descendants, UC2 Yetis, and UC3 Djinn. I was more referring to non-human enemies.
>>337304993
Did Nate go to boarding school in Colombia? I'm sure he says he did in U3 and obviously it's where he meets Sully, but he's in America in U4.
>>337305201
I literally hated the "hacking" part. omg some super bad guy hacked our phones and knows everything we're doing and where we are!
so lazy.
In a game I've mostly enjoyed I hated that. But to be fair almost no media medium can properly play the hacking card without triggering my autism.
>>337305463
>trying hard to shill their phone with the pictures
>whoops its easily hackable
>its ok it breaks with a light drop to the floor
The semi-sandbox areas were neat. I had no idea they were in the game because I avoided trailers. I wish they would let me be alone more often though, the banter between companions is nice. But I love the moments in the other games were its just Nate going solo spouting one liners. Thats the Uncharted I love.
>that part where you jump down to hit nadine and you fall through the fucking floor
fuck that got me good, didn't expect that
>>337305685
holy shit I didn't think of that. The camera stayed on the SONY logo for like a good minute.
>>337305817
Nadine getting punched through the window as you climbed outside was a nice touch
>>337305184
Because in the end of the games he comes out empty handed. The gold he got from Uncharted 1 was used to bail him out of prison in Uncharted 2.
I really really wanted to kill that black chick. Disappointed the game was too PC to do so. I wanted to go full The Raid on her in that 2 v 1 fight, shove a fucking glass shard into her.
I could go for another one
They by far not the deepest game out there when it comes to gameplay and shit, but it's one of the few series where i had fun with every game
>>337305997
Why was she even in the game? Just to have a strong female character?
Uncharted usually does bad guys justice. Nadine was not properly used.
>muh super strong women
Ok that's alright
>she's borderline good borderline bad. kinda just needs the money cuz her dad fucked over the company with some bad civil war deals
Believable. I mean we all get the money angle.
>nate and sam are obviously superior treasure hunters
So she's obviously just after the money. And she's on a deserted island in the middle of nowhere with a bigass treasure. As the ENTIRE military force on the island, why not chose the guys who are best to find it?
She was a bad guy for relatable reasons who'd otherwise be good. There are so many ways to properly play a character like that which Naughty Dog didn't do.
Sucks cuz she coulda been a great char in this game.
>>337305997
I hated that you couldn't even counter her attacks. You pretty much had to just take the beating until the next cutscene.
Best story, best platforming, decent set pieces, amazing scope of areas, but I feel like I cheated by doing 60% of combat stealthily, unlike tlou I don't think this amount stealth fits. Overall best game, good Lord it was long.
>Throwaway line about being in a Panamanian jail in Drake's Fortune
>In U4 Drake was in a Panamanian jail a decade prior
Pretty cool for people who have stuck with the series for so long
>>337306369
It's fucking obvious that Druckmann was not going to do anything note worthy because of Anita
>>337305412
But senpai there were no actual supernatural parts in UC3.
So their daughter is not actually a tranny, right?
Some of the fucks on here were chimping out that she was.
>>337303220
Uncharted 2 and to some extent 3 had a good mix of platforming, shooting, puzzles. Uncharted 4 was just paced bad in my opinion. Not enough action.
More games need lighting like this, not just good physically based rendering. But the fact that they never go overboard, no stupid lens flare effects or other effects. It's weird sometimes to lighting is so clean and realistic that it almost looks wrong.
Part of me likes Sam's inclusion and the other part of me feels like he was forced into the story just to have a partner explore with Nate to capitalize on the TLOU feels
>>337306875
I think she is just fat and a hipster. This whole game is just pandering to sjw
>>337306787
I know but at least there were pseudo-supernatural enemies.
If we're after happiness I'm getting it. It's fun as shit man...there's no way around that. Sure it has some slow boring parts but what doesn't.
But I can't help but feel like it should have been better. It deserved to be better. Nathan Drake deserved to go out like the iconic character he is. And I don't feel any of that.
>>337306994
Especially the first half was not great in that aspect
>cutscene
>cutscene
>walking
>cutscene
>climbing
>cutscene

>climbing
>cutscene
>puzzle that almost solves itself
>more climbing and walking
>>337307093
>This whole game is just pandering to sjw
Not really. Nate is white, his wife is white, his daughter is white, his dog is white, and his boat is white.
So why didn't we get to see the other sister as the letter implied.
I looked at those fucking ice statues for like 10 minutes
Shit like that, good looking water, sand, foliage and lighting are the only things that still impress me in videogames
>>337307216
Part of me thinks that Neil D didn't even want to make this game. It's obvious that they wanted to make TLOU2 instead, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets teased at E3.
>>337307216
Druckman and Stanley brought too much of TLOU to U4 desu, the whole game was slower paced rather until the last third, unlike than the typical rollercoaster shooting gallery of the first 3. It's just different and it was obviously intended due to being the final game and set out to stand out.
>>337307578
Nah they wanted it for so many reasons. Think of the devs whose life has literally been wrapped around this franchise. It's not only closure for us fans.
I just don't think they stuck the landing. But they obviously made an enjoyable game worthy of the Uncharted name. I just wanted that feeling.
By that feeling I mean the feeling any Harry Potter fan had when he set down the 7th book 12 hours after it was released. That feeling like a part of you had ended and you had to come to grips with it.
Nathan is absolutely an iconic character...ND just couldn't stick that landing unfortunately.
>>337303220
This type of comment seems like it belongs to gamefaqs
Ringing that bell and the aftermath got my penis hard. Nobody does set pieces like Uncharted.
So will they actually make Crash now? Or TLOU2?
If they'd make a Crash Remake with Crash 1-3 kinda like the new Ratchet and Clank game i'd love that. Like a super high end CG looking fun platformer
>>337308053
I think the game and ending was good, he grew as a character over the 4 games and it was easily seen as a contrast to Sam who had not gotten to Nate's point in life. At a point you gotta eventually hang up the gun holster...
>>337308510
TLOU2 would be my guess. I mean it's as highly regarded of a game as there's been in recent years. Capitalism and all...any competent studio is making another.
>>337308510
Both.
>>337302236
The best sequence is the car scene they spoiled at E3 last year. Great action that you're in control of the entire time.
Best moment was seeing pic related.
>>337308571
>>337308053
Plus the final shot, look how far we came.
>>337308796
Playing that scene real time I loved it, but I couldn't help but feel like if it'd have been fresh it'd have blown my mind. But I had already seen what to do on the vids.
If they were gonna spoil a set piece I wish they'd have done another...cuz that Jeep scene woulda been fucking badass fresh.
>A Thief's End
>Nobody dies
>>337303032
Don't listen to the people that are shit posting about it. I've played through the whole game already and if you played and enjoyed the other uncharted games this one won't disappoint you at all. At least it didn't disappoint me. And also don't listen to the people saying it's too slow. There are a couple parts that are kind of slow but one of the first things in the game is a prison fight and like a chapter or two later youbreak out of that prison as sam.I'll be honest with you though I am pretty biased though because for one uncharted is one of my favorite series, and two I played through the game on acid so that definitely affected how much I liked it.

I had a sinking feeling in my chest because it felt like they were setting up for Sully to die. I'm glad he made it.
On a side note, I like how the characters actually acknowledge when they're dialogue is cut off by another piece of dialogue.
>>337308991
Rafe you fuckin dumbass.
>>337309215
>>337309719
I was expecting maybe one of the two thieves present in the entire goddamn series, not a random generic antagonist. At the very least I was expecting Sam to die, as shoehorned into the plot as he was.
Fucking Naughty Dog.
>>337308978
I always liked that you never really have the control taken away in 4. In 3 they did the same like in the stowaway plane scene you can punch the huge dude before he pulls the the lever to throw Nate out of the plane.
>>337304465
>Great platforming
Fucking seriously
>>337309845
Cmon bro don't treat Sully like that ;_;
Final boss would be better with no button prompts and no checkpoints. It was still cool as fuck. Better than the shit we got in UC3.
>>337310093
Did people really not like the fighting mechanics in 3?
Are there fucking Alt. Costumes like in UC2?
Nothing was better than wearing the Breaking & Entering costume and pretending I was Tom Cruise secretly working as an INTERPOL agent.
>>337310305
There's lots of bonus skins, renders, and "cheats." No donut drake though!
Just finished it. I enjoyed it for what it was. There were some moments that were dumb as fuck, though. Like how inthe catacombs near the end, there was a ledge that I could've jumped to with elena, but the game didn't let me until I went through 2 different story moments. Dumb as fuck and could've been executed better.
Also, why does it feel like Elena is more bossy in this game? Maybe it's because of my bad memory, but I don't remember her being so damn controlling in the other games. It also bugged me that, behind Drake's back, she bought that business. IDK, I know she probably tried doing it as a surprise but it still bugged me.
AndTheir daughter at the end. I think there's a good change there will be a spinoff game with her in it, if not her then maybe a Sam Drake game. I feel like both were hinted. I honestly wish that isn't true.
I just got here
>>337310446
Yea but they didn't keep any of the good costumes for drake. By that I mean the ridiculous ones that everyone I know played as. No doughnut drake, no cartoon drake, no buff drake. All they kept are the clothes that you wear throughout the game.

glad developers are finally taking physically based rendering seriously
>>337311243
Yea but 3 and 4 still had no actaul supernatural stuff.
I really enjoyed that they opened it up in some parts like in madagascar with the jeep then with the boat on the islands. Madagascar was more fun cause you could find enemy outposts. It was a nice change of pace when it happened. Th efuckig islands look beautiful to prolly the rettiest game i've ever played in those parts
>>337311772
Thanks Digital Foundry. We had physically based rendering since HL2.
Other than writing offNadineand not meetingFather Gregoriit was much better than UC3 overall in terms of writing.
>>337312119
yeah, I felt like there was probably stuff I missed on the boat segment and on Madagascar
the views from the heist (chapter 6?) blew me away
I'm in scotland now and it doesn't feel as graphically impressive, gameplay has been pretty good tho. stealthing enemies is fun
>>337303046
the platforming mechanics themselves are extremely simple and context-sensitive, I think it's the level design that really made those sections enjoyable. they did a really good job making it feel like a puzzle and not an automatic thing like previous uncharted games
Does Neil understand suppose-to-lose boss fights should at least allow some level of resistance?
Nadine's fights are a fucking slog, I get that they wants to emasculate Drake to build up the new Villian, but making the 200 lb freeclimber fight like he's a flabby-armed chump is fucking lazy.
All the fights turn into hitting attack and watching an animation of her kicking his ass. It's boring. Hardpecs McNoneck kicking you ass in U3 was way more interesting to play.

There's just no way those vehicle mechanics are going to be in this game only. We'll definitely see more of that in other Naughty Dog games.
>>337313448

"spoke ill of me"
I've played through Chapter 13. This is the prettiest damn game. Not just in one or two scenes, but in a variety of scenes. The amount if different shit they got to look so good is amazing. From how wood looks, to how light reflects off shit, to ripples in puddles, to the gun fire effects, or the lightning in the pouring rain. And I haven't even mentioned the animations.
I feel like next gen visuals are finally here.
As for my favorite parts, whenElena surprises Drake and co.was surprisingly emotional. Set piece wise, the opening still sticks out the most for me.
So what are we predicting TLOU 2 takes from UC4, considering how much 4 took from 2?
I'm guessing huge open levels, vehicles, a dog companion of some sort. Imagine some spooky ass horror shit with the lighting of this game. Terrifying

I'm halfway through ch11 & my favorites so far are the jeep nearly falling at Madagascar & the clock tower.
This might be bate for some anons but I was underwhelmed by U2 despite the praise it had. The set pieces are great but thought they weren't impactful & was just too badly paced. U4 on the other hand's just so fucking good in all aspects imo.
I loved the gun sounds as well, they don't sound weak as shit like from U1-3.

Just finished. a couple thoughts.
1. The crash bandicoot part is insane. How?
2. The face capture is especially amazing for Elena in this game.
3. The quiet, normal life scenes are amazing. They add so much to the game, in addition to looking near-photorealistic.
4. Whoever Naughty Dog outsources the art to for all the set dressing stuff is amazing.
5. Perfect, beautiful ending.
6. Nadine is the baddest bitch, def maining her in mp.
>>337316536

I love this game. Everything about it is perfect to me.
The only thing that annoyed me is every time someone was on a ledge and they couldn't reach you. Every single character has that grappling rope.
So, at the end of the game when Sully and Elena acted like they couldn't get up on that wall, I was yelling in my head about the rope that they all have.

First 2 hours are definitely slow. Game gets better and better, with one big dip near the end, and then it picks right back up again. It's a great game and a fitting end to a series with characters I liked a lot more than I thought I would. Just finished it like an hour ago. The set pieces are great.
Here's the thing-- if you go into this saying "Oh UC4 is a shooting game" you may be a bit disappointed, since the game leans heavily on platforming. It isn't old school platforming, but it is certainly a platformer/shooter hybrid. The platforming and exploring is legit, not quite Tomb Raider 1-2 level, but it's legit. Its no longer a a "press x for a cinematic jump" game. It's an actual platformer. And it has the best shooting levels of any Uncharted. And these are good sandboxes that let you play stealth or go guns blazing. Enemies a little bit on the bullet sponge side and melee is terrible, but the shooting is excellent.
The pacing is a bit off. Kid drake is NEVER EVER a good idea, but overall, a great game and an easy recommendation for any PS4 owner. Graphics and art design are so good they are rewards in their own right. I'd play just for the graphics.

>dat beautiful ending
maaan. what a great series. my only gripe is that chloe didn't show up, and that nadine drops out of the story at the finale.
playing this game on crushing reminds how shit uncharted can be some times. the cover system is sticky as shit and clinging to a small fucking crate can be a complete pain in the ass. the platforming in combat is practically shit when you get dosed with hitscan weapons and have to hide behind a crate for five seconds for your health to regen. bringing the combat to a halt every few seconds anytime you fucking move. enemies can take like a good 8 to 10 hits to kills at a distance as they play peek a boo while hiding in cover. the level design was complete shit sometimes too. foliage would often block your line of sight (which enemies can see through outside of stealth). i really hope they stick with TLOU's combat in the future instead of this outdated blend of COD/Gears.

My first impressions of the lighting are that something about the sourcing can be iffy. I'm glad you can't do that, Naughty Dog have made it so you can't "pay2win", everyone has to unlock gameplay stuff the hard way, but you can buy cosmetics with real money if you are impatient.
I'm not 100% happy with it, since getting the exact skin you want could take forever, but since all future maps/modes/guns etc... will be free for everyone it's a fair enough compromise. And some skins in Uncharted 2/3 required days of playtime to unlock as well.
One advantage of random unlocks is everyone uses different stuff, which is nicer to look at than a whole team using the easy to unlock stuff.
I do agree unlocking weapons is pretty tedious though, and unlocking late teir mods is utter hell. Instead of a linear progression they should have let you choose one to unlock out of the remaining ones each time you did a tier, so you can get what you want earlier.

It's definitely an Uncharted game though it does take some stuff from The Last of Us such as optional conversations and collectibles that you can read. It's also a bit slower paced but it's still Uncharted.
>>337326090
Yeah Sam and Sully doing a side adventure would be pretty good. They were heading to Portugal so I am sure they could come up with something good.
>>337326254
There are also black Afrikaners What's your point?
Does anyone else miss the PvE co-op from UC2? The multiplayer if just straight up pvp in this one
So is there going to be an expansion?
>>337302236
So far, exactly the ones you mentioned. Everyone will the say the jeep section is better(it was amazing)but for me, the scale and grandeur of the clock tower section was amazing.
Also, Elena has nice feet
>>337326704
That's what my copy says.
>>337303826
It's 4 am, only retarded niggers with no job are still up, primary Sony audience.
>>337326704
Yeah, I'm guessing you're gonna play as Sam doing Sully's dirty deeds. It just makes sense.
>>337323331
it's more like human rabies.
>>337327236
I just got out of work, nigger.

Tree sap doesn't turn you into a purple super-mutant
>>337326704
Yes hopefully of Sam and Sully adventuring.
>>337325813
first and second did. They're the two best ones story wise anyway.
>>337327475
So anon why are you posting at 4 a.m?
>>337327475
Pretty fucking good, man. I might be getting a third raise. It's a decent college job, to be honest.
>>337327324
Have you ever drank tree sap?
>>337327592
Because i'm homebound from a broken leg, and i got caught in my Stellaris playtrough. Going to bed soon, can't get bad habits when i start back worké
Good luck with whatever menial task you wil undoubtedly do till your dieing breath

It's only 1 a.m. here but thanks.

The rape scene.
I was really surprised and shocked by the brutality.
>Nate telling off Sully at the motel
That's not fucking right though, he's an old man. Poor Sully ;_;
>>337328426
Ahhhhh, that scene made me hurt.
Sully just sits the papers, down...
>Okay, kid.
They don't even show him leave. You just hear the door.
Great fucking scene.

The shitposting lies and scapegoating have gone on long enough, the quality of the board dramatically goes up when Americans are asleep. This is a observable phebonmuen,

They're adding co-open?
For SP?
>>337329130
*co-op
>>337329130
Sorry, I was talking about the multiplayer. As of right now there aren't any co-op modes (arena, adventure) but they'll be added later this year. Just means I won't really be bothering with the MP.
>>337314546
Jesus, clean your room, bitch.
I still like 2 the most. Is the online for that still alive? It was pretty great back in the day.
Why do people like U2 the most?

>>337321632
Oh, but that is not right, anon. Seeing people discussing a new game, you started acting like an asshole. You should probably just leave andplay some games
No matter how amazing your life is, you're going to get old.
I'm scared /v/. I'm real scared.
Graphics or not, they're the Naughty God of animation.

at least they still have the rediculous taunts i guess.
Beat it like half an hour ago.
Shooting felt great, the thing I love about this series is that you can shoot anytime even when you aren't aiming and just spray bullets, the few moments you can use that ability to do something impressive are always awesome.
Really wish the wouldn't have spoiled the best setpeice in it's entirety.
emotional notes rang flat to me until the epilogue, which having played 2 and 3 game me some feels.
Nate is so hot it made me uncomfortable.
Thought the ending was above and beyond most triple A releases now days, as it wasn't just some fucking quick time events.
Glad I played it on moderate , I feel like the harder difficulties would have just made it frustrating as a the game is designed to have you shot at from pretty much every angle all the time.
What happened to costumes? didn't 2 and 3 have costumes?
>>337302534
The first 9 chapters (i.e almost half the campaign) is very slow. It picks up from 10 onwards.
I bought the uncharted collection a few weeks back after learning it's from the same studio that did The Last of Us. It was shit and I haven't even got a few hours in to any of the games. Has it aged horribly or am I giving up too easily.
>>337333371
>Really wish the wouldn't have spoiled the best setpeice in it's entirety.
This so much, the jeep chase was just too fucking good to be spoiled, I bet Sony forced them to do that.
>Thought the ending was above and beyond most triple A releases now days
Can't wait, just reached chapter 12, hope there's more setpieces to come.
>>337333371
you still unlock skins in the bonus menu.
they aren't that great this time though
also while the ending and most of the game left me cold, the beginning was actually kinda sad, i felt sad for drake having to live that normal life while really wanting to go on adventures.
>>337333504
U1 aged poorly, U2 and 3 should still be as fun as they were back then
>>337333584
the game has very few setpieces.
less "look at this rediculous thing happening, nathan drake is one lucky guys isn't he" and more "look at this cool environment, now go climb it"
>>337333504
>or am I giving up too easily.
This one.
U1 is great (minus the retarded as fuck jetski parts), U2 is one of the best PS3 games ever and U3 is also okay.
U4 is donkeyshit though.
>>337308991
>>A Thief's End
>>Nobody dies
Henry Avery. Henry Avery is the thief of the title, you spend the whole game talking about him and following his journey.
>>337333504
UC1 is fine but rough around the edges. 2 and 3 have much better gameplay.
post screenshots

The Drake Collection for ps4 is on sale for 20 bucks at best buy right now. How often does it get that cheap? I vaguely want it just so I can be doughnut Drake in the third game, but I'm not exactly dying to replay those after I just finished 4.
Want to buy U4 this week. What is the overall impression about it here?
>>337334319

whoa dude, didn't see that comming, thought henry was gonna be the final boss.thief's end is actually about nate retiring you dumb fucks.

60% climbing
10% cutscenes
10% puzzles
10% combat
10% going from point A to B
great looking game
not that fun to play
much less combat than the first 3 games despite U4 having the best combat yet.
multiplayer seems okay but focused around daily challenges and loot crates.
>>337334725
Thanks for the reply. Sounds not so promising.
Should've made a Goonies game instead
>ywn use photo mode to look up the cheerleader chick's skirt

He doesn't have to die in the game for you to find out how he met his end, genius.
Elena is the perfect wife.
That is all.
>tfw perfect Chloe doesn't show up
>>337334638
best uncharted
Gunplay is great, the areas you fight in are usually large and complex with lots of opportunities for losing the enemy and sneaking up on them.
The exploring sections are good and have actual stuff to do with lots of hidden stuff to find.
The platforming sections are less linear and have more 'puzzle climbing' elements.
The story sections at the start of the game are pretty meh, but its over quickly
Puzzles are better and only 1 puzzle I can remember is 'look in journal to be told answer' like in the previous games.
Multiplayer is goat
Not god's gift to gaming but overall it's really good.
>>337334725
>60% climbing
lolwhat
you haven't played the game
>>337315961
Apart from the obvious shilling (because it's a Sony funded/published game) that is actually a really nice phone.
Last I hear, Sony's phones weren't selling that well which is a shame because they're GOAT tier in build quality, they have great screens, waterproof and the specs are bretty good.
>>337335194
dude there is so much fucking climbing.
definitly more climbing than shooting, and definitly more climbing than cutscenes.
half the time you hang from something.
makes me fucking furious how they fucked up the balance between cutscenes climbing and shooting.
it was better paced and better balanced in U2 and U3
I really liked Rafe as an antagonist. I really dig the whole "billionaire that doesn't give a fuck about money, and gets his hands dirty for the glory" motif.
>>337335337
Rafe was so fucking good during the auction and during the end of the game.
>>337335245
My girlfriend has one and they are alright, I like how they look.
Specs are meaningless though, pretty much every top tier android phone is the same, even the S7 is waterproof now.
>>337333584
You've still got a long way to go and a lot of good set pieces. Enjoy the rest of the game dude, I loved it like I did the other 3.
>>337335415
>That last bid from Sully in the auction before bowing out and letting Rafe win so that Nate can literally shut him down.
I giggled like a school girl.
>>337322945
>TR looks better
>"what kind of anti-aliasing you want?"
>"what do you mean?"
>"this game is fucking plagued with jaggies, we need some sort of anti-aliasing in place"
>"lmao"
>"ayy lmao"
and then the game was released
>>337335326
Yeah you're always climbing but it's usually while doing something else; during combat, while puzzling etc.
am I the only one bothered by the fact that a well armed and well funded private military does not have access to a helicopter and satellite images?
>>337322945
yeah, nah
>>337335337
Rafe was great, but he had the same issues the other Uncharted antagonists had where they just don't get enough screentime. It wasn't as bad as 3 where there were clearly plot threads with Evil Helen Mirren and Mirror Universe Drake that were cut out, but Rafe still needed a couple extra scenes.
Him losing it on the boat at the end was great though, and that final fight was perfect.
>>337335564
I was genuinely surprised there was no heli fight in this game anywhere.
>>337335628
>Nadine literally just leaves.
I can't decide if this infuriates or impresses me.
Like yeah, nah, the leader of the PMC has just straight had enough of this shit. She's going fucking home.
>>337335564
I was puzzled by the lack of helis
as for the satellite imaging stuff, I just sort of imagined uncharted was set in the early 90's.
Or at least I did until they turned up with sony smartphones. They kinda fucked up there.
>>337335714
I was fine with that because it fits in so well with the cliche of the "Number 2 who is just a professional and leaves when the lead villain goes nuts" type.
It's something that happens a lot(especially in Westerns) and I enjoy it every time. Not everyone is going to be obsessed with the villain's master plan, some people are just professionals who want to get fucking paid.
>>337335903
The only thing I really wish was different is that she leaves because she gives up on killing that immortal bastard Drake. After four games of this stuff I'd love to see just one bad guy finally see it.
>>337336063
>Sam Drake just got away with our treasure!
>at this point I'd say he earned it
There was a lot of good banter in this one.
>>337336152
>dat Alcazar's death reveal.
Gotta admit. That one really took me. All I could think about was how this game was gonna end. First we'd deal with the treasure, Nadine, and Rafe, then we'd deal with Hector.
Nope. Sam lied, and you believe the lie because you played a full level of his lie.
>>337336292
>noone really gets angry at sam
>all is forgotten the very next scene
>a final chapter with Alcazar could have been amazing and tense.
that shit was so stupid.
>>337336442
I just wish there was THAT scene.
You know the one. The one where Nathan let's Sam fucking have it.
>>337335628
Isn't he just have rich white man's syndrome?
>>337336657
I mean the motivation itself wasn't super-interesting(not wanting to be defined by his family's wealth) but the actual character as-written was handled well.
are there any neat chase sequences?
like the one through the town in one of the last uncharted games
>>337336748
Lossing himself on ship was good
>>337336772
yes
>>337336772
Nah, they always chasing you
>Nathan Morgan
Huh.
>>337336772
No, not really.
>>337336869
I'd say the whole last hour of the game(Chapter 22/Epilogue) was just about perfect, and made up for almost all of the other faults the game had like the obvious filler on the island and other bits.
When Rafe picked up the sword I knew exactly where it was going and I got so goddamn hyped, it was great.
Nadine is a strong powerful woman who don't need no man.
>>337337398
>complaining that the head of a South African PMC is hyper-competent
And she still gets BTFO by Sam and Nate in their 2-on-1 fight, it's just that Rafe's men show up right after.
>>337314191
damn check this absolute liquid shit coming out of this dudes mouth
