Personally Im fine with Shenmue II tier graphics and would be glad if everygame looked liked that if it meant better games and less bloated dev times. Since then art direction to me started to matter more than actual graphical power since very few games bother to use the additional power modern consoles offer to do anything meaningful other than adding more polygons like fully interactable environments that are affected by everything you do and saved by the game.

I can definitely concede that. I mostly like his technical skill and how his non-sameface characters have a lot of personality in their designs while still looking realistically-proportioned. Nona would be my favorite if his indulgences didn't get as crazy as they do sometimes.Actually, since the XIV models are sorta noodly-limbed, I feel like they would have benefited from being based off of Nona's designs.
