What's the deal with the PVP area near Pontiff?
Every time I join a guys game where there are several people taking turns duking it out, the host decides to hop down and then everyone gangs up on me
Am I doing something that a lot of people dislike?
Why do they become hostile towards me after being nice and taking turns?

Don't know but those fight clubs are filled with fags. I like harassing them with obscuring ring + great bow, taking potshots at the host from a far. Killed several hosts by knocking them into that pit and the other red phantoms accidentally hit them. It's pretty fun aggroing every one because they waste their own time trying to find you and kill you. Obscuring ring truly is the best.

If your opponents don't chug and you do, it's understandable that you'll get killed. If they chug first and you respond in kind you shouldn't be ganged up on.

As far as I know the "cheaters softbanning people" was taken way out of proportions. Having backups of your saves will protect you from those pricks. There are some automatic backup tools you can search for.
