These starters are some of the best starters we've gotten since Gen IV desu. Might even be my favorite batch, we'll see when they evolve.
I love barn owls so Rowlet is my favorite right now but Litten and Popplio look really good too. Gen VI was cool conceptually but the designs were kinda meh and Gen V starters were a travesty so I'm glad they knocked this one of out of the park.

Using seals in the circus is a pretty common thing actually. The whole balancing the ball on the nose and clapping is a carnival staple. You've never seen anything with a seal in clown make-up and the frill around their neck balancing a ball?
And I've seen the theory that the starter theme this gen is circus with Rowlet being the fat ringmaster with his tie, Litten being the lion/lion tamer act and Poppio obviously being the clown/seal act.
