I'm 30, been playing games since I can remember (I had an Atrai 2600 when I was very young, then a master system aged about 8 or 9). Over the past 4 or 5 years I seem to struggle to get into games nowadays, I start them and lose interest after a couple of hours.
Having said that, I am currently recovering from a badly broken ankle and subsequent blood clot, so I have been playing lots of Civ 5 (with the balance mods etc) and I started playing Stardew Valley which I enjoy a lot - as I'm on lots of prescription painkillers so I am a bit woolly headed, it is nice and comfy and not taxing. I like games which I can play at my own pace a little bit.
I also got rocket league yesterday on the xbox one, and played a bit of that, but I felt rubbish at it. i only played against the computer 5 matches but I wasn't good.
I don't like how much focus in games now is online playing, I don't have the time and energy to get good at games.
All I want in life is something similar to Advance Wars. Or different to that, some strategy games akin to Command & Conquer or Age of Empires. Can anyone recommend similar stuff? (Particularly if any good games on IOS as I have a lot of waiting around in hospitals atm and my ipad is vital).
