Maybe? I might try it out for a little bit for the sake of novelty, but there's just a limited amount of content to go through there, unless they start making some sort of retrofitted content in the vanilla/BC style.

The nostalgia would be nice too.

No. A vanilla or Burning Crusade server would be stagnant and soulless. Vanilla is over.

Just accept that the game and the genre are dead and move on.

It's not bait. I liked early WoW. But early WoW wasn't stagnant. It was ever changing.

A vanilla server that never evolves and is merely stuck in the "good old days" is a stagnant and dead one. I don't want a hollow replica of what was a good game. You can't bring true vanilla back.

If they implement the talent trees/mechanics that were at the end of their respective expansions? sure.

A true vanilla server would make half the classes unplayable. 1.12 talent trees on launch on Nost made it an entirely different and enjoyable experience.

faggots always seem to forget this when bringing up vanilla servers

What is the name of that f2p MMO that is very similar to WoW but has a lot of Asian themes?
>>

Thats literally because blizzard uses old servers to save as much as it can on costs.

Shit didnt Nost have like 10k on at one point? It can be done. Probably laggy and overcrowded as fuck though which is probably another reason to have a low pop cap

Nope. WoW is done. Dead in the water. Those experiences are gone forever. You can't recreate them, and it's not even worth recreating them. Blizzard can and should, however, just move forward with new, better IPs with the level of polish and casual appeal we've come to expect from them.

I fucking hate neo-WoW with a fiery passion, but I have to admit that Overwatch and Heroes of the Storm are tightly designed and fun "pick up and play" experiences. I think the company can and will do just fine surviving on basic Warcraft memorabilia alongside their newer, better, more modest titles.

Seriously, who gives a fuck about World of Warcraft in 2016? I'd rather see them make WoW2 within the next decade than try and fail to relive the past. You can't go back, /v/. Just take the memories you had and be grateful for them and move forward.

>/v/ tells me that Vanilla was the peak of WoW
>starts to play on the kronos server
>roll night elf priest
>the only spells I use are renew,SW:P and wands
>starts lvling in loch modan with a friend
>we both gets XP gimped while we level together and ends up being to low to start new quests

Vanilla was fun for a while, but holy fuck is there a huge downtime on everything you do and all the spells takes so much mana so it forces you to use wands. Atleast in retail I can spam smite and actually do something.

What's up with the insane spawn rate with mobs in caves ?

Wtf is up with the horrible respawn timer on item that you need to pick up in the world or quest where you need to collect quest items from dead mobs?

Why did people praise vanilla again?
>>
>>337104425
Because they were teenagers when they played it.
>>
>>337104425
>Why did people praise vanilla again?
The time requirements made reaching the level cap feel extremely rewarding. It also filtered ADD teenagers like you.

I'd play WoW again if they made a TBC only server.
TBC was best expansion with best raid content.
>>
>>337104662
Why did it feel rewarding ??

Because the lvling part for the moment isn't interesting at all and that is mostly because you don't do anything.

I have no problem grinding, but atleast in games like Warframe or Diablo the journey is extremly fun

When most casters goes oom from casting 4 spells and is forces to use wands to do damage something is wrong. Most of the time I played I just tabbed out of the game to watch a movie or read posts here.

The healing wasn't that hard either. I usually just drop renew on X character and shield. If I really need big heal I just use Lesser heal.

But I shouldn't expect any /v/ poster to actually bring anything consistent in their post nowadays.

So the question is, why was it rewarding ????
>>
WHEN will there be the next AAA truly great MMORPG?

How can the genre possible move beyond WoW achieved in the first place, now that it has been established as the very foundations of that genre?

Everything that comes out is built on the basis of what WoW has done, with small alterations and additions, which, though necessary, are ultimately minor changes.

There can be no WoW 2.0 -- I simply can't envision it -- the genre is finished.
>>
>>337097118
Well I would reactivate, thats for sure.
I dont know if I would buy the new expension too tho.
>>
The way to bring warcraft back into the public consciousness is to release a version on PS4.
>>
>>337105084
>So the question is, why was it rewarding ????
Because you finally accomplish the goal after investing over a week of cumulative time. Anything would feel rewarding if you invested that much time into completing it.

As far as the gameplay goes, it's not CoD. There's a lot of waiting/downtime/spamming, especially in the lower levels. The game gets more difficult/interesting as you acquire more abilities and progress your character. Mana becomes less and less of an issue as you get more Intellect. Questing out in the world is the easiest content the game has to offer. My advice is to wait until you're ~20 and try out Deadmines/Wailing Caverns. Even the low level dungeons are a very interesting experience.

Have you tried immersing yourself to the world?
Read the quests, pick up professions, live the zone, explore the world and stuff like that. Dont try to rush things. Leveling up feels like a reward after going through the trials of the zone. Just take in the world.
>>
>>337106578
That is something I normally do though. Have both ench and tailoring at 100 + and most of my money come from selling greater wands on AH. It still really boring. The biggest enjoyment comes from getting more money, reminds me of old runescape att bit.

A priest was really slow in leveling in vanilla. Have you tried visiting other zones even if they are not on your path? Other than that there are a lot of "vanity" items. Buying drinks, reading books and other stuff can be pretty fun, maybe buying other people drinks. Not RP, just messing around. Dungeons do provide a different experience compared to quests.
The journey was more fun that sitting around after hitting the cap.

Probably not
I played vanilla and the memorable parts were playing with my friends and guild members at the time. When the server was down I would talk to people on the realm forums. I also had fun exploring the zones that you were not supposed to be able to get to.

The raids didn't really start getting interesting up until AQ40 and Naxx. I'm not sure I would have the patience to try raiding with 40 other people again, 1/3rd of the raid being on auto-follow, and however many people can't understand the super difficult concept of 'get the fuck out if you're the bomb'.
The time not spent in raids is spent farming mats for flasks, potions and whatever other misc items you need.

Or you could go the PVP route and try to get Grand Marshal which requires you to forgo sleep and try to make plans with the other people on the realm to take turns getting it just to have it get screwed up by some random person that didn't want to cooperate with everyone else.

There were some fun times but they're all in the past now and I doubt they can return.
>>
>>337110487
what did you even get for having the title of grand marshal that you didn't get from field marshal?
i don't remember shit ;-;
