Play final fantasy 7. It's the most middle of the road, and the best one.
6 is more steam punk with old school aesthetic, the only one comparable to 7
8 is more "realistic" and is more the same early 3D like 7
9 mixes old school fantasy stuff with the 3D style
5 is more focused on job/class if your into that, many people like this game best
10/10-2 has its fans, but it's a lesser game that 567 and 9.
12 is an offline mmo and 11 is online. It's a different flavor and doesn't represent the franchise
13 trilogy is the worst.
13 is boring
13-2 is better but still eh
13 lightning returns is arguably the best of the three but it doesn't feel very much like final fantasy
Tactics is also really good but is a grid based game and has a style all its own

OP is you want a fun start into the series I would recommend 10. It hooks you in nicely and has the best combat of all the games.
From there you can branch out well into any of the other games.

You're TRYING to say that the adventure was the ONLY redeeming value of every single Final Fantasy game (its differing styles of gameplay, be they combat differences, mini-games, exploration, cutscenes of even the dialogue or story itself) so much so that you claim you know when the final boss of every game appeared (Trance Kuja? Yunalesca or maybe Sin?) and decided there wasn't going to be a single shred of adventure once you struck the killing blow. No conclusion to the story, no additional sidequests, not additional dialogue, no trophies, no challenges, no further cutscenes. No. The adventure just ended moments before the boss music began.
