You like alot of these companies because you have nostalgia for a small part of their games and might not even know of their other products that don't appeal to you.
People shouldn't look at these companies as if they were above anybody else, because they weren't, that's why they ultimately failed.
Please do remember that these are big companies that don't care about you, they just want to make money.
I find it really stupid that people praise companies almost like somesort of religious establishment, when they would do anything to make a profit.
