When it comes to twitch shooting, yeah, the importance has been diminished with heroes like bastion, torbjorn and winston, but that doesn't mean the game couldn't be competitive, because it has strategical and insane teamplay dept. It's pretty much the server equivalent of framerate, irrespective of client-side framerate. Pic related is what you're actually shooting at with each tickrate, regardless of what framerate you're running the game at and what's actually happening on your screen.

yeah but 60 tick is terrible for competitive environment too, 20 is just laughable. It doesn't matter anyway because Blizzard as a company will never be able to produce an even slightly competitive "e-sports" (and I use the term loosely) game. Their trackrecord on handling balance is terrible, and their business-model revolves around absolutely nothing but maximizing profit at the cost of everything else

It's still a fun game and I'll buy it since I have a stack of 6 to play with, but nobody sane would ever expect it to become a competitive game

A second is split in 20 ticks. Two widows shoot at each others. One shoots a bit earlier than the other but they're both registered at the same tick so they both die. With a 128 tickrate server it's over 6 times less likely to happen. It's 100% on tickrate you retarded fuck

You know what it takes for a mutual kill in csgo? Both clients have to press shoot in the same 60th or 120th of a second, depending on the server. For Overwatch it's only the same 20th. That is fucking tickrate.

nope, hitscan kill trades can't happen in CSGO, it's programmed that way. hitscan trades can happen in OW because they programmed it that way. you will never get trade kills in 20, 64, 128, or a million ticks in CSGO because the server will always resolve the "winner". trades can happen at 20, 64, whatever fucking tickrate in Overwatch because the server won't split hairs between a few ms difference and instead allow a trade.
