I have a PS4 and I'm not even remotely interested in this. The game looks like a painfully generic action-adventure movie. All of the Uncharted games have looked like that to me; I'm so tired of cinematic experiences, QTEs, etc.

To be honest neither have I. Seriously, aside from God of War (which was mainly because of the PS2 games) I don't personally know anyone who is an open fan of any PS3 franchise or Uncharted. No one talks about them after release either. Uncharted was a franchise that we PS3 users played because we had nothing else. I was an extremely early adopter of the PS3 (2007) and everyone suggest that I bought Uncharted, from there there was nothing else until MGS4, and then again nothing else until Uncharted 2. While playing Uncharted I just wished I could play Gears of War online or something, I literally played it because there was nothing else.
By the time Uncharted 3 came out I already completely forgot about since I had a PC and tons of shit to play on the PS3 too, then I got it for free and it really was a mediocre, forgettable game.

That's what Sony has ultimately lost in their franchises. It's a complete failure to create anything even remotely unique or memorable from a gameplay, character or story perspective. I don't want to be the guy who only roves all Grorious Nippon games but Part of the reason why Japanese or hell even non-American properties get talked about long after release is how memorable their characters were or a particular story twist was or how good that boss fight was. I really think reviewers should be given more time to think about the game then just straight up reviewing it a day after finishing it.
Like, If I were to rate DS3 just after finishing Lord of Cinder, I'd rate it 10/10 because I was still ecstatic. Given time, I'd look back and realize all the shit like linearity of the game, some of the less fun bossfights, etc.
Uncharted games are never more than an 8/10 for me, but since it's an entirely crafted experience, impressions will stay high throughout the game, because you're being railroaded through setpieces.

These games are made on hardware greater than the PS4's. They are then rebuilt, optimized, and polished to accommodate the PS4's hardware and architecture. Console's are just outdated PC's and developers push the boundaries of those devices to achieve the best graphical fidelity they can.
Uncharted 4 does look great but not as great as it could or should because it's made for only one platform to sell the idea that it's "exclusive" and therefor better. It's sad that you will never get to see the game in 60fps at at least 1080p.
It's also sad that PC developers sell exceptionally powerful hardware and developers sell unoptimized games and games that are PURPOSEFULLY demanding to make the PC audience think their hardware is better than it is, or not good enough.
Crysis 3 looks good but it doesn't run as well as it could because the devs teamed up with Nvida to hamper AMD and the PC audience.
Uncharted 4 could be better and bigger but it's gimped by it's hardware and Sony's and Microsofts shitty consoles.

Why are people praising so much the "technical performance" of Uncharted 4? It only runs at 30fps and even sub-30 in some points.
Fox Engine made the exact same thing, but with a much better 60-fps in both MGSV and Ground Zeroes. And it ran butter smooth 60fps in both Xbox One and PS4, not to mention PC had even 4K output.
