I fucking hate how so many newcunts seem to be under the impression that Avellone hates Star Wars. The guy read every single EU novel and played every game prior to making 2. It references incredibly obscure shit like Nar Shaddaa being in the '"Y'toub" System.
The Jedi Order may be flawed, but you'd have to be a fucking idiot to not think they're the better option in the grand scheme of things.
>>337049838
The Jedi Order is disgustingly corrupt after the events of KOTOR 1 what with the death of Zhar and Vandar and the good ones, with retards like Vrook and Atris surviving. Its total destruction is pretty much presented as a good thing since Kreia's plan is essentially for you to refound it with your companions.
>can't get the game working no matter what
I haven't replayed it in over 5 years, I need it.
>>337050035
That's fair. All I'm saying is that No, the Dark Side is not secretly good. The Light Side of the Force is objectively the right way to go.
>>337050421
Kreia didn't represent the Dark Side though. She wanted the death of the Force
How is apathy worse than death? Haven't played the game but this is some 2edgy4me bullshit

Kotor 1 is a wonderful loveletter to the original trilogy. Kotor 2 is all the best parts of EU. I think both are great.

I finally beat this game for the first time about a month ago, and I have to say that the finale was an absolute letdown as a light side jedi. There was so much build up and hype leading up to it, and then suddenly you're just having a normal conversation with Kreia and get these boring future sight revelations about where your companions end up in the future. To me, that was a major disappointment for an otherwise enjoyable game.

It used to be canon. In our hearts, it is still canon. And we hope that one day, Disney will bring it back in some form (personally, I'm hoping for a two-season-long Netflix series; one season for each KOTOR game, possibly adding on a third to have a better culmination of the two than TOR and "Revan" delivered).
>>337053881
it was obvious as hell, they couldn't be more obvious that you were just traveling through a dream/vision. Especially when everybody in your party started to say that in a creepy way no matter how out of character it was. And they by the ending of the vision you pretty much see the influence of the sith grave.
>>337053793
Did I ever imply that it was the real Kreia who said it? If I had posted that with a picture of her in her half-Obi-Wan, half-Sheev robes that she wears through most of the game, then yeah, you could say that I was.
I only used that picture because my Google-fu was failing me, and I went with one that was close enough to the Kreia illusion we see in Ludo's tomb.

What's the point in even keeping TOR alive if it means dick to Star Wars as a whole now? Not that it was anything remotely-resembling what people wanted in a KOTOR 2 sequel, but surely someone at Disney can't stand the idea of a current game with active players conflicting with the storyline

Disney kind-of owns TOR. It's kept alive because it's making both EA and Disney a lot of money (EA through subscriptions and in-game purchases, Disney through EA's contract with them), and BioWare actually likes the fact that it's no longer canon, for the same reasons that they were all too happy to set KOTOR 1 thousands of years before the events of the movies (namely, that they don't have to worry about keeping to canon nearly as much as they would if they had to tie into the new movies).
>>337056826
If anything, I don't get why the OLD republic had to be part of the canon nuke, since even when KOTOR 1 and 2 were a thing, they didn't conflict with any of the movies, and were their own self-contained thing
The worst part is that if there ever was a chance for a proper KOTOR 3, it disappeared when they decided an MMO would be the best way to wrap shit up, so apathy really WAS death when it came time to resurrect the KOTOR IP into an actual RPG
Can anyone give me a tl;dr on if TOR actually ties shit together? Or is it just a clusterfuck that goes in 200 different directions
>>337057923
TOR ties in just about nothing except for the fact that you rescue Revan and then everything from then on involving Revan gets worse as it goes on. People like to mention Bioware shafting KotOR2 characters but they butchered Revan more than any character from 2.

Such union would bring... difficulties. Do not insert your intromittent reproductive organ into her counterpart. And if you do, use protection to contain discharge. And if you don't, follow up with your lightsaber and turn it on.

Unfortunately, Lucasfilm and Disney decided to throw the baby out with the bathwater when they did the Legends reboot, deciding that it would be better to just jettison everything aside from the movies and The Clone Wars rather than pick and choose whatever they wanted. Perhaps they may want to redefine exactly how long the Jedi were around, or change the history of the galaxy such that the events of KOTOR become impossible. Then again, some creators (such as James Luceno, author of the Legends book "Darth Plagueis" and the canon book "Tarkin") have been letting Legends material slip into canon (by referencing "Plagueis" in "Tarkin"), so there's a possibility that we may see KOTOR again in some form.
