Only P3 does that. P4 have a specific flags that you need to trigger in order to enter the “love interest” route. But still, in P4 they didn't lock anything, you're able to pretty much date every single girl in the game, just one event in Christmas where you have to pick one of the romantic interests to have a date together. I don't know about P4Golden.
