Zenyatta is incredible because most of the time people don't even know what he does and so you end up winning a match by being the ultimate support character.
The problem is when you come out of wet paper league and people start one-shotting you because they know what Zenyatta can do and you have to hide behind tanks the whole match.

You get more points the more on fire someone you kill is, and I think how much ult meter they have, AND you get more for using your ult to do it.

I'm great with mercy and symmetra, but what the fuck am I supposed to be doing with zenyatta. Healing or killing? Because honestly, he seems better suited to killing than he does healing. His attack is fairly fast and damaging, plus his charge shot if you can aim it right, PLUS his discord orb.
But everytime I play him offensively I get my shit pushed in and feel like I'm using him wrong.

Mercys ult at least makes sense, it makes a massive difference. But zenyatta's doesn't really seem like itd ever be super useful. If you're getting your shit pushed in enough that your entire team is to the point of dying, then you team isn't playing well enough to beat the other teams strategy and your ult isn't going to amount to much. If you are steamrolling the enemy then whats the purpose of your ult, most of your team probably doesn't need healing.

The system is also skewed towards taking out opponents with high ult meters and those who are on fire. Actions from on an objective and against those on objectives will yield higher POTG point amounts as well

Dude killed our D-Va's mech, blasted me off a cliff when I tried to shotgun blast him, headshotted the D-Va pilot, then blasted our Roadhog off the same cliff as the last kill, which ended up winning them the round by capturing the control point.
I'm not going to lie, that might have been the most impressive play I've seen during the whole beta by anyone.

With Reaper and D.Va you're never close enough. Get in closecloseclose. They both have abilities just for that purpose. If you can't get in close, hide. You're not doing anything by shooting people at range.

Thank you, I am glad I am not the only person feeling such frustration. Reaper seemed like a ton of fun from the preview videos so I was really hyped to try him out, but his guns feel like two oversized fucking pea shooters which do fuck all damage. And forget about the whole ambush aspect, because by the time you've even managed to kill an unsuspecting enemy, two of his teammates are on your ass.
I think some kind of instakill backstab akin to the spy in TF2 would have worked a lot better.
