The Helghast didnt fuck thier own planet. It was completly destroyed by the ISA, giving them a section of Vekta was the least they could do, especially since Vekta was stolen from the Helghast in the first place which is why they are salty at all.

Currently Guerrilla games are focused on Horizon Zero Dawn. Might take few years after Horizon's release until we get some news about a new Killzone. Somehow I doubt they will continue the Killzone series.

If it had been recently rediscovered (as in, existing before the Imperium) AND was capable of producing then it must've had pre-Imperium grade technology (a.k.a. Dark Age of Technology), making it INSANELY valuable to Adeptus Mechanicus and the Imperium at large, in which case considerable effort would've been made to safeguard the world.

Maybe. The level of discovery of an artefact like this is tremendous and of the highest priority. They'd just keep trying and if anything happened to these forges, there'd be severe consequences to all parties involved.
I honestly don't know how exactly does a Warpstorm affect communication and travel, other than possibly making it impossible. It was a plot point in the first DoW, though how much of it was canon, I cannot tell./
