Blizzard is banking on a bunch of people enjoying the free beta and then buying it, but the longevity of the game is pretty questionable.
All of the heroes are braindead easy to learn, the only thing that takes time is learning map layouts to exploit their strengths well enough.
All they can really add are more heroes (people will probably lose their shit if they add alt weapons / abilities to current heroes), maps and game modes - right now there isn't enough to justify 40 dollars of content.

I've been playing it a lot since the open beta and I've only seen a couple of people who say things like "pick x hero ffs" because we're getting rekt and like one person who went "GET A LIFE U FUCKR". Last night I had a streak of people who said "ez" and such to taunt the other team after every win. I've been having fun with this game but goddamn why am I so fucking bad at aiming? I've basically never played online FPS games on PC so I know I have some catching up to do but I feel like I'm not making much progress at all. I feel like my own aiming is kind of jittery and too spastic, as opposed to people I see on killcams who seem to have fucking perfect control of their aim and always land the crosshairs right on me no matter how I'm moving around to avoid them. And then there's the widowmakers and hanzos that get 4 headshots in a row whereas I pretty much always miss several times between each hit.

I basically only play tracer, pharah and mercy at this point. Tracer is alright because even if I suck at aiming I can still be a good distraction to the other team and I've gotten a lot of nice pulse bomb kills. I'm decent with Pharah too because I played Tribes: Ascend a fair bit and I guess I like that kind of prediction aiming more than hitscan. I think I'm pretty good with Mercy actually, that's the only one I really feel that I'm good enough at for how little I've played.
But really, is there some magic secret I'm missing? Is my mouse sensitivity too high? Do I just have to keep playing, or am I clinically bound to be shit at FPS for my whole life?

Your sens might be too high and you could probably really benefit from a big mousepad. A big mousepad will not only let you lower your sens without running out of room, but if you play on a bad surface then it'll make it a lot smoother when you move your mouse. What's your sensitivity in game and DPI on your mouse? Having a constant 60 FPS or more is also really important. Otherwise, it'll just take practice.

My problem is that every input feels like it has a delay and that's probably why they had to make the walkspeeds so goddamn slow. Like half the heroes can kill her in 1-2 shots so she's weak in that sense. I've seen people be pretty effective with her damage wise though, aiming for the head helps a lot. She's not really a killing machine like other offensive heroes though, her role is more for fucking with the enemy team, getting behind their lines and dismantling their shit and keeping them away from the objective.

Some heroes like Tracer and Genji just have a skill floor that you have to bypass until they get really fucking good.
Tracer can do up to 240 damage with one clip without even counting headshots. If you struggle to hit even 30% of your shots then obviously she's going to feel really weak.

6000 DPI and 15 sens is crazy high. I don't think your mouse can even track properly at that DPI. To put it in perspective, a high sens for pro/high level players in a game like this or Quake would be around 800 DPI and 7 sens. Try lowering it to that or even a bit lower and stick to it. Your aim should improve. If you don't have the space to move your mouse enough at that then just raise it until you can spin around while still tracking moving targets.

76 is well-rounded and that makes him a good character for anybody to play. He's not overpowered at all and there are plenty of ults that don't need aiming. Hell, his ult can even be an annoyance if you're trying to prioritize grouped up targets or take out an incoming Junkrat ult.

Mei and Tracer are the most over powered in the game. A decent one of either can completely ruin an enemy team. Yet both from what I've seen are rarely played by comparison to most.

I think Genji is the only character with a semblance of skill ceiling. His shurikens do a lot of damage but are hard to land consistently, has a nice reflect, can wall run and double jump for harassing players. The rest of the characters are extremely basic and easy to use.

Need to time your deflects not just pop a soon as you engage, most players will be able to react fast enough to stop firing, especially reaper who has shotguns.
In terms of 1 on 1 you need to keep distance and practice hitting your primary or simply be too quick for him to follow you. Save your dash for finishing fights and then leaving or simply leaving, Genji has incredible mobility and can get out of sticky situations easily. Never fight reaper close range because unless you're a god (and even then) you probably won't win.

The only reason I use Shitmmetra is for her teleport and even then it breaks after a few uses. It is timed based, breaks after a few uses and can be destroyed easily because some characters can attack through walls or have crazy AOE. She is so damn terrible.

This game is weird as hell. Sometimes you start the match and you are having a very hard time capturing the payload. So I expect this to be consistent but after you reach a certain point on the map the attacks completely stop and you are just walking for like 1 or 2 minutes without any activity. Is like the enemy team got lost on the map or something.
And sometimes you defend a point extremely well but if they cap it in the last 5 seconds it seems you cannot defend again as well as you did before. They just steam roll you and you cannot recover.

tf2 with its server browser and huge amount of player slots is much better - having a lot of players slows the game down so even if you have a 3-4 people stacking, the chances of a steamroll is much smaller than in overwatch where they can completely annihilate the opposition.

It's an ability that only lasts a few seconds and takes a long time to charge.
You will only do bodyshots while it's active, in a game where headshots are extremely important for burst damaging and killing tanks.
It will not lock onto buildings or turrets, often fucking you up when you need to kill them while it's active.
Activating the ability sends a loud as fuck notification to the other team and essentially functions as a "KILL ME NOW" button on a low-hp character.
It is literally only useful if you need to kill a ton of people really fast and they're already distracted by your team. Even then you're still better off shooting people in the head if you can aim. The only actual benefit the ability gives you is a very fast reload speed.

I love playing her, but I have no idea why she is classified as a Support character instead of a Defense character. Her turrets are near useless on attack and her shield is insigificant compared to any other support. Even S:76 provides the team with more survivability than Symmetra can. Her shields need to be doubled at the very least before she can start to even compete with other supports.
Disagree with her weapon being shit, but she doesn't have the durability to use it effectively. Sure is fun ruining Tracer's day with it though.

Zarya is one of the best classes in a pub, in my opinion. The fact that half of your health regenerates, having a shield for mitigating damage and great weapon with AoE and precise parts. I like her more than Rhein in pubs because she can keep a distance, throw her ult in, and then her team follows up. Rheins gotta charge in first and if your team is braindead, then you probably just die.
Overall it is fun for its type of game. If you're the type who loves TF2 you'll probably be set with this for a long time. Provided they continue to add new characters, maps, modes and other content, it could certainly be fun for awhile.
However, I can't look at the game without feeling like there was so much untapped potential. Overwatch is basically stripped down PVP "battlegrounds" from what was supposed to be the "Titan" MMO. They did a great job establishing characters and a gameworld that seem interesting, but there's so much that could be done with adding lots more content like PVE, open world, progression etc... think "Firefall" at very least, as a game that does FPS gameplay on a MMO scale very well. Firefall + Planetside + Blizzard Polish could have = something great. Overwatch is all right, but I am disappointed the scale is so small.

Titan was known as a "Shooter MMO" that many people thought may have been a "Universe of Starcraft" at one point, but with real-time twitch combat I'm not saying that the current Overwatch format is reminiscent of what Titan was supposed to be (unless you could consider these matches not unlike the Battleground PVP in WoW, instanced objective based etc) , but rather that I would have liked to see the characters and theme applied to a larger scale game, especially if the shooter element could be maintained to some degree (a la Planetside in the full PVP mode, and Firefall in an open world PVE setting)

the beam is very good at close range if you just move around and it requires no aiming skill
the charge up projectile is great from long range while you are defending if you aim down choke points and spam. it can go through multiple enemies and genji cant block it
the turrets are one of the most annoying weapons in the game if used properly. they hurt enemies, slow them down and also act as a motion detectors. most people place the turrets improperly like on the ground or all bunched together. if you place them slightly spread out and high up in hidden areas they wont be easily destroyed. they also are most effective when you stay near them and ambush people with your beam

nobody said to spread them out all across the map. they should be placed around the same area but not right on top of each other so that an enemy cant take them all out in one shot. if they are placed higher up and slightly spread out the enemy will be constantly hit by them. if you stay in the area with the turrets you will be pretty much unbeatable. If the enemy tries to focus on you then the turrets will kill them. if they try to focus on the turrets then you can kill them.

Honestly I hate the people that Reaper attracts. Was playing earlier, and I guess I ended up being the one actual adult with a party of a bunch of kids. It was literally two Reapers, two Genjis, and a Bastion. They yelled at me for going Reinhardt, since apparently "Tanks are useless at killing for faggots". Meanwhile, they didn't even go for the objective. They just tried to kill the enemy team, and didn't care for actually playing the fucking game. They flipped shit that I wasn't killing enough people, meanwhile I was the only one who ever actual stood on the point once. Actually managed to cap one point, since they were busy distracting everyone, but we ended up losing anyway. They then freaked out on chat because they lost, despite "having so many kills", and then when I had play of the game, because I had party kill on the objective with my ult. Meanwhile I had 75% elimination participation.
